Im so sad for this game (3000 in game)

This is an even worse way to track it.
That just means that many players took a look at it or were online once during those 2 weeks (where did you even get that number, link plox) but doesn’t consider how many people actually played.
What does it matter if 50k people started the game once (if this tracks Steam it even tracks number of people that got VGA or version.dat error before they could login as well) when there are still only 3k average over 6 servers playing at one time making queues essentially dead outside of primetime (and even during prime time on some servers~)

What makes Ques dead is a 10 level gap Queue in a game spread amongst 330 ■■■■■■■ levels (subtract 50 if you want for the 1-50 experience).

That a game with this many levels doesn’t have a scaled system is hilarious.

Yeah the playerbase is dropped but the way dungeons is handled does not even remotely work for the way this game is set up in its progression.

Here is my “white knight” statement:

Yeah, you have the right to feel sad. I feel sad too. I have also invested so much in this game, and it sucks to see our community dwindling. I also feel angry that IMC pushed out such an unpolished game, and without adequate support. But I really don’t want IMC or this game to fail, mainly because of how much I have put in and how much potential I see. I AM limiting my expectations, but I choose to remain hopeful because I feel like that will give me the best chance to get what I want.

At the end, I do very much agree with you, this feeling does suck, and iTOS is not in a good state at the moment.

They removed player count from the site, but queues seem to take longer.
You also better to complete not-so-popular dungeons before 0:00 JST and popular ones before 2:00~3:00 AM.

We need to take into account two factors however:

  • New year period has ended
  • Events that give free +150% Tomes every day / chocolate(which also worked as cookies for cumulative +150% EXP) / free 7-day tokens have ended.

You must grind every day till you are out of Chocolate / Tomes because it is 2,8 (150% from the Tome/Choco and +30% from the Token, not counting increased dungeon entries) times more effective than outside the event.

Such events tend to recoil hard when they end. Especially when chained that way. Especially when there are no events after. (Only Sugoroku web-event which doesn’t require to even launch the game.)

I’m really burnt out from that stuff and now login only for daily runs on my necro to get skel. archers faster and park her somewhere already.

I like folks who are trying to stun others with numbers which look big after 3k avg, but don’t mean anything.

  • Will those 50k in 2 weeks help you to find a party?
  • To queue for a dungeon?
  • Maybe for PvP?
  • Or to find an active GvG guild?

With 500 players avg. per server.

Maybe compare it with, let’s say, Path of Exile? 35k~65k peaks every 3 months, which are then creeping down to 12k for 3 months?

12k CCU or 220~250k in 2 weeks.

It’s funny because at the end of CBT2 some people asked to implement features from GW2. If I start playing GW2 right now I’ll find a party in every kind of dungeon I want to start. And it’s not because the game is better, it’s just because it’s not a tree of restrictions.

3000k of strong players, it’s a good time to hear a joke of that level, the Revelation game. Even with a few players talking about it and only the Chest and Ass of the female characters, it’s surprising Your Castle Sieges … No FPS Fall, for a Desktop Made for Online Games and great, Really If ITOS is not Dying, We’re Seeing a New Example of Living Dead, Tell the Bokors a zombie if they lost their Bunch … (Laughs).

If they are not online, they are not “playing.” That’s why an average is a very good metric. If you thought about it right now, do you really think there’s 9000 players active across each server? Be honest. There are probably 300-400 players on Klaipeda alone who have logged in within the last 2 weeks when you remove bots and gold spammers and that’s a generous estimate.

What good to you is it knowing how many people own the game but never log in? Players actually logged in and being active is what’s important, because they’re the ones directly impacting your server capacity and your bottom line.

Less than 3k players. Already?
Well, hm… if we kick out the bots we have less than 2k.

We know the culprits of this dropping player base. All those darn hue and doom knights on the forums! (right? right?), scared away the majority of people (impressive feat indeed). = sarcasm is fun.

International version yet scraping to hold onto 3k.
It is real unfortunate this is where the game has gone, but for those who can still enjoy the game somehow, overall. Have fun.

As much as I think sarcasm and “hueing” is not helpful. I don’t believe that it is their fault at all. If this is an enjoyable game, players WILL play it no matter what others are saying. So I must say, the reduction of players are the result of poor game performance, poor design choices, poor coding, and limited understanding of the Western market.

I believe that the fault of the player’s counter fall are not the players who are criticizing the IMC, and their beloved IMC GAMES, so it’s very hilarious to blame in other players and never at IMC Games, and because of that the count Will continue to fall, most will just laugh, these comments in the forums just as memories, Why the ERRORS and Other Problems were pointed out, now what is lacking and the sincerity and commitment of the Company with its Players and Not only the Profit, if I Deny Such Flaws We can name these players of New Deficient Visuals, those who have the Doom to cram, but pretend to be blind, to the problems … Really ITOS has reached the end of the pit.

Lol 9k per server…you mean those megaphone bots, bots and the bot’s storage account?

By the way, according to that website, the population in the last 2 weeks is already 59688 yet the all time peak is only 53554. I believe those numbers were actually taken as stats of unique steam accounts. Now please estimate how many bots we have in tos.

Queue once tried saying this point in the player debate before and my response is that number right there shows a good metric of bots fluxing in and out along with RMT doing transfers. It absolutely does not give a good reading on actual real players who sit there grinding for hours or in queues like normal people should be doing. People thinking otherwise is fine but seriously even if they aren’t bots or RMT transfers then that is absolutely poor for player retention rate of someone logging in for an hour and then splitting.

Yeah I stand by that. The data says 30% of the players in the last 2 weeks have less than 5 games (SteamSpy), that basically limits bot accounts to a maximum of 30%. Since our last conversation, I’ve even gone so far as to contact the creator of SteamSpy, Sergey Galyonkin who said this:

“Technically it would be possible by estimating empty accounts with only one game that were created recently. I don’t have the data about account creation on hand, but there are indeed many accounts among owners of Tree of [Savior] that own less than 5 games in total. 30% to be exact. Most of them aren’t bots, of course.”

Combine this with what GM_Papaya hinted at and it’s pretty clear you’re wrong. Email Sergey yourself, he’s pretty cool, though timezones can be difficult to work out. Ask him what the standard amount of bots in MMO’s are, confirm what I’ve said. All the information you need is under the About page.

Tree of Savior has a retention problem, and has a problem where players get spread thin through all the content, and while bots exist and are a problem, it is no where close to what you think. Don’t blame the wrong thing, that’s just misleading.

LOL fail whiteknight is fail. The fall of concurrent players means they are spending lesser and lesser time in-game and yet this is a good thing somehow??? Logging in everyday for 5 minutes just to spend free tp and open mystical cube also contributes to “logged on recently” and that is good for the game?

Sorry to say this but this isnt something Sergey will know. Most of the bots are actual players who bought those commercial bot programs such as t**kore. People often blame ‘chinese gold farmer’ or whatever they can blame but thats just their method to shift the attention. I have 7 steam accounts with multiple games which were made when I was playing tera. Sergey wouldnt even know if one day I purchased a tos bot program and started botting.
