I just come back to TOS looking for Pelt rod murmillo help

i going PVE most of the time i play solo full str will be good?
sw1 > pelt 2 > rod 3 > MT/Shinobi > murmillo 2
or
sw1 > pelt 3 > rod 3> murmillo 2
or
sw1 > pelt 2 > rod 3 > MT> Shinobi > murmillo

should i need to add High Guard and Guardian

Don’t do full STR on a murmillo…

I’d recommend at least 1:1 CON/STR, but I went 2:1 CON/STR myself. The reason for that is simple: CON gives a lot of hp for swordmen classes, coupled with Murmillo, it means you’re also gaining block chance. In comparison, STR gives only ATK (accuracy is rather unecessary in PvE) which can be easily offset by having a good trans weapon. STR gear also tends to be much cheaper than CON gear.

Being a Rodel also means you need to invest into CON to get your block high, since you don’t have Finestra.

All of the builds you mentioned are good and excel at something in specific. Shinobi exchanges constant dps for burst dps. I personally wouldn’t pick MT in Murmillo build though, as Pelta + Rodel + Murmis have thousands of high skill factor, high overheat and low cooldown skills (meaning MT skills become less used).

I’m a Pelta 3 Rodel 3 Murmi 2 myself, and I believe my build could deal more dps if it had Reiti 1 instead of Murmi 2 in it. However, I do enjoy the Sprint skill of Murmi 2 a lot. Shinobi could also be interesting but I opted out of it (even though I have the quest unlocked) cause my build is very focused on being a tank as well (something shinobis are not).

About High Guard, it depends on how much block you aim for. On PvM, you don’t gain any further benefits from having block higher past ~850, because that’s when your block rate caps out. I got my block at 850 and now investing on evasion to get even sturdier against physical dmg. Currently sitting at 650 evasion when using Guardian + Oracle’s Forecast scroll. With these values, you should have ~90% block chance and ~50% evasion chance at PvM. I didn’t bother getting High Guard because i’m just too lazy to trigger the buff up to get a minimal addition to umbo blow’s damage (yes, it is a minimal addition of only about +20% total dmg when you consider it along with all other group 2 bonuses).

Guardian lv 10 or 11 is necessary now that it gives you so much extra defense.

Umbo Blow deals a lot of damage once you max out it’s attributes. It’s actually the highest hitting skill in my set if the enemy is staggered from a block. Taking out 1 point of it really hurts but having Swash Buckling lower than lv 10 hurts even further.

It becomes a really monster skill if you get to damage staggered mob, thats why I really like having it as high as I can get. But of course taking off some points from Swash Buckling is also quite bothersome. It’s all up to you, really.

Rest of skills are fine.

1:1 isn’t so hard to level. Full CON is really annoying to level until you have high refine or trans weapon (you won’t deal any damage until then). Having STR really helps before your weapon is good enough, but it slowly becomes less and less useful.

@mrshadowccg any thoughts about the rank 10 update?? I am currently a pel3-rode3-reti1-murm1. Thinking about getting shinobi for a better burst damage against bosses or murm2 for bettee movility. Still not sure about it tho :frowning:

dont worry, im just considering it xD but even without the helmet attributes, x5 damage and an additional pierce skill to get buffed by retiarius seems quite nice.

that cooldown increase is awful tho :frowning:

In my opinion, murmi 3 looks somewhat weak. I’m disappointed by it. The new skill can hit high if you have cassis crista + debuff, but it still feels super sluggish and impractical to use in parties. Tbh the best thing coming for mumis is the no-motion cast for Sprint, which is nice but still feels completely off scope of the class as a tank.

Reiti 3 seems a lot better for their dps + utility with nets and everything. Not really a shield oriented class, tho.

If I were you I’d go Murmi 2 anyways, not because it’s a good choice but because there’s nothing better to pick. At least Scutum is having a decent area now so it’s double AoE Atk Ratio makes some sense, and you still get 15 sec Sprint (extra 5 sec doesn’t quite justify murmi 3 imo).

Trident Finisher itself is strong enough to justify Reiti 1 and having the option to use spears also increase your base dps by about ~10% which sort of makes up for the loss of extra skill levels you do not get for not having Murmi C3.

I’m still not sure how’s the sword attribute going to be, however. If it gives absurds amount of extra defense, then maybe Murmi 3 could be slightly better than Murmi 2 Reiti 1 (not in dps, but more tanky). I doubt that attribute is a big deal, tho.

the best build for a dps murmillo in this meta is sw1-pelt1-hop2-rode3-shinobi-murmillo. cuz hop is the best warrior in the game and spear is the best one hand wepon (it have more dmg than the rapier and the sword) and never go 1-1 con -str plisssssss. you are a warrior have the more hp in the game and you have you helmet that make you more tanky(you can miss magic dmg) is soo good.

Hmm guys? Peltasta’s skills descriptions say that “if the attack is accurate, incrase provocation by 50” etc

What does that even mean? What is an accurate attack to trigger this effect? the game doesn’t explain

It just means if the attack hits, that’s all. If it is dodged/blocked then no additional provocation applies.

@yasashiku_ Murm1/Reti1 will out DPS murm2. sw1 - pelt3 - rod3 - murm1/reti1 is a solid build. Avoid shinobi.

High Guard and guardian are important, I would get High Guard to at least 5, and Guardian to 11.
