Tell me what the new error is if there is one. Also try deleting release.revision.txt, restart the game, and tell me what the number inside of it is, (it’ll recreate it on launch).

The number should be 6 digits, double check it to make sure.

Did you verify the integrity of game cache on steam? If yes, what exactly happens now when you try to launch the game?
It should update the patch itself and ask you to restart the game.
After this it will start updating game files.
Does something different happens?
