Prepare yourselves, because I like to write. To tell the truth, I’m a little disappointed. I never played RO, and never had the will to play. I didn’t like that style. and when I came here, I already new that it would be like RO (In a 2D style), but some friends insisted.

When I play MMOs, I like to look at my character and play with its costumes and etc, but here in this Pokemon-like world where even zoom in is impossible, or you can just choose your appearance between some types of hair and can’t even change its color… well, let’s just say that it isn’t a game for me to play. You guys can say that I’m a fat weeaboo that just likes to see cute girls, not the game itself. Well, it’s truth, I’m not a gamer, just a very small casual guy that plays here and there.

But whatever. Except for this, which is a very very very personal opinion (And I know that in the future they’ll probably put some other things in the character creation), I’m disappointed with the target system and de mapping control that isn’t customizable. But again, I know that we’re in Beta, and with all the feedback, they’ll probably change something.

Now the real deception. People (And the game itself) say that the game has ā€œ80 classes for you to chooseā€, but that’s a lie, at least in my interpretation. The game has 4 classes (Warrior, Wizard, Archer, Cleric), and then they are expanded in different ways, but in the end you’re still what you choose in the beggining.

For example, I started as Archer. What can I do? Throw arrows with a bow. Then I changed to Ranger at lv15. What can I do now? Throw arros with a bow. I started with 3 skills to throw arrows, and then recieved 3 new skills to throw arrows. I could had choosen Quarrel Shooter, but what can it do? Throw stones as arrows. In the end, if my building is Archer > Ranger > Ranger > Scout > Fletcher > Falconer, I’ll be an Archer with 9 skills to throw arrows, 2 skills to conceal myself and 3 skill to call a falcon to attack. Which class I’ll be? Archer. If I choose Wugushi in place of Scout, I’ll have skills to throw arrows with poison in place of skills to conceal, and that’s all.

I already knew that it would be like this, but people continued saying that it would be ā€œ80 classesā€. So, sub-categories that implement content in the previous class aren’t ā€œnew classesā€. The only class that I can say that has a good variation in purpose is the Cleric, were which one of the sub-categories is focused in some kinds of buffs and debuffs. But for Warriors, Wizards and Archers… I prefer something like AK, where I can be an Archer and Healer at the same time. I like to attack and provide support with heal, but here I can be just one of them.

Ok, this is getting way to long. To finish, I liked the game, don’t get me wrong there. I’m disappointed, but I still liked it. I have my personal critics about the game there are based solely in personal preferences, but I’m at least thinking about them, not just ranting free ā– ā– ā– ā– . It took me a while, but I learned how to use the combat system, and in the end I liked it. I still prefer to play something like AK, but ToS, at least in the boss battles, are way more funnier and enjoyable to play in group. It’s still a CBT, and I didn’t see everything about the game yet, so this post is just a ā€œfirst impressionsā€ of a guy stuck in lv15.

Picked a choice in the advancement tab and changed my mind afterwards.
So now I’m locked into that choice without having done the class quest and having changed class.

There goes my desire to play on for the time being.

Aura Kingdom!? LOL Please

Aura Kingdom has the worst combat system ever.

1.Lol this CBT… They are planning for Eye colors, Skin colors and more hair styles and much much more. This is not final game for god sake…

Lol what the heck u are expecting? Every job has own role and u can combine roles with different classes.

  1. Falconer support falconer and they have own skill sets
  2. Hunter support companion
  3. Sapper uses traps
  4. Fletcher can create different type arrows…
    5.Wugushi is poison archer
  5. Schwarzer Reiter can uses Guns.

CBT3 only has 40 classes at now…

I am loving the game and I a bit sad I won’t be able to play it for who knows how long after the iCBT ends. Unlike some people here I like the fact it takes time to level up, I don’t like reaching end game in MMOs too quickly. Also, they are planning on more skin colors and face styles? Fantastic news if true, that is my only issue with the game so far.

  1. Don’t worry about the costumes. I believe you will have a lot choices in the future.
  2. To my surprise, you can’t zoom in the screen? I was told that you can’t rotate the view, but you can zoom in… i can’t play, so someone tell me how to do it.
  3. I agree with your opinion on class. Yes, i don’t think there are 80 classes either! That’s a lie. Actually there are only 4 classes. You just develop them into different builds.
  4. After reading all these negative reviews, i feel less interested in this game now. (ofc i still want to play, but not as much as before

I have not done much apart from grinding. The on screen activity and effects is pretty balanced and very nice in my opinion, so that you dont become bored quickly. There is limited equipment, crafting and customization diversity in the lower levels right now. Hope it becomes better than that. Otherwise apart from some bugs the game itself is quite beautiful.

Sorry my impressions are late…

I think the game is a lot of fun. The graphics are beautiful. I love the monsters, animations, sounds, music backgrounds and fields. The interface is intuitive for the most part. This is going to be a great game.

There are some problems now but there are no problems I’ve seen that can’t be easily resolved with beta feedback.

I am going to lose many, many hours to this game when it goes live.

So far the game definitely lives up to its hype, and I don’t think I’ve ever played a game this constantly (maybe it’s just the excitement f the hype, we’ll know by the end of the week). The graphics and music are so pretty beautiful and you just get lost in them some times. The field monsters are good, generally not too strong or too weak. It’s a bit too grindy early on after level 24/25, but there are supposedly other areas that are planned for release so they might help combat this (since I’m assuming there will be more side quests in them). Bosses have quite a lot of HP, which makes the fights somewhat slow especially if you go in by yourself, but they aren’t overly difficult.

Overall though the game is really great and I have really high hopes for it once it’s publicly released/launched

Yeah… maybe I prefer AK because ā€œI’m not a gamer, just a very small casual guy that plays here and thereā€, who ā€œlikes to look at my character and play with its costumes and etcā€, as I said in my previous post.

And in the end, again in my previous post…

Well, I said that I prefer to play something like AK, not that AK combat system is better.

Sometimes I wonder if people really read what others post, because I already said this here:

Again, sub-categories that implement content in the previous class aren’t new classes. The only difference here is that you can choose which sub-categories you want to use. If I’m an Archer and choose Wugushi, I’m still an Archer, but now with 3 new skills to shoot poisoned arrows.

@nekomiko I read somewhere that new hairs and colors will be locked and you’ll find them somewhere in-game after completing something, but I don’t know if it’s true. If there’s a way to zoom in the game, I didn’t found it, but I think it’s impossible because of the game style. The game is really good, don’t listen to my complains. They are just some personal preference of a guy that don’t play to much games. But I still think that it doesn’t compensate all this hype.

I read your post but its seems to be conflicting… U are crying about lack of costumes but dang this CBT after all like u said…

So u want 80 totally different classes? That would be balanced hell… Why did u search information from Tos before u started to play CBT? Dont never play MMOs blindly…

I’m not crying, just stating and explaining my point of view. No, I didn’t want 80 different classes, and yes, I searched about ToS beforehand. I already knew that it wouldn’t be ā€œ80 classesā€, but I just took this topic as an opportunity to criticize the ones who says that the game has ā€œ80 classesā€ when it has 4 and then a lot of sub-categories.

I totally understand you. I prefer cute costumes/making my char look better than combats in games.
I saw the zoom in info here:
http://toswiki.treeofsaviorgame.com/faq
Idk where the faq came from though, i guess its translated from korean homepage.

and for changing colors, it’s from this:

But I don’t know how to do that yet :stuck_out_tongue:

Isn’t it fun to explore to find out how to do it? I think so.
And dont worry i’m still hyped by this game yay since i cant play yet

So what did u want then??

For the classes, i agree with @Lutiaz. Its not 80 classes but just 4. But I think it’s pretty fine to use 80 classes for advertisement haha.

Luckily we may have more than 80 builds in the end (if they can make classes balanced). Hype!

The game itself says that it has 80 classes. My friends recommended the game saying that it would have 80 classes, and when I searched about this and showed them that it wouldn’t be 80 classes, they didn’t back off because of all the hype and this other fan things. So… I think I just wanted to criticize all this fake merchandising.

@nekomiko Yeah, in some ways, creating your own build seems really interesting, and that’s something unique to this game, I think.

80 sub classes are still hype at least for me… They can brings a lot of thinks to table… You are criticizing the class system based on 40 character… Remember that future class might have all kinda of interesting class variations…

Wizard class has all kinda of different and interesting classes that are not based on magic damage skills… Druid, Oracle, Thaurgmage, Sorcerer, Necromancer, Chronomancer, Linker… They give all kind of Debuff and buffs… Typical mage cannot shape shift to monster… Or typical mage cannot summons bosses or predict monster and stop time…

Swordman has class that can buff all party members with camp + u can increase their Hp and Sp to 20% with food table. Thats not your typical Swordman class…
