People want to have their way and their way alone. They want to be fed, taken care of, and be satisfied at the same time; CBT isn’t a place for such people. It is sad that we, the community, have such people who thinks a CBT is a place where they can truly “experience the game” when its the time where you can find bugs, request add-ons in the game and mostly importantly, making connections. In every CBT I’ve ever played, I don’t really take the whole leveling system seriously; I wish to savor every level and go slowly while making contact with the people I play with. Once OBT starts, these people who I’ve befriended during CBT are those whom I call companions who are going on the same journey as me. Without them, I truly would’ve left the game a long time ago. For me, a game is not a game without its community. One thinks that a game is something that’s just a one stop trip for fun, that is not the case. It is by connecting to people that makes a game fun; I even had fun playing a certain game that experiences gold inflation every time the level cap is increased(seriously, an item from 5 gold 3 years ago costs 50 gold last time I checked. And you need *at least *15 of these things every time you enhance your item to at least make your item unbreakable). ToS is far from a perfect game because its community is far from having its own problems patched up. Surely, we don’t need another Big Wall of Text such as the one above(took me a while to read it, but seriously… Its better to keep your posts at max 2 paragraphs in order to even keep me from reading).
say what you want to say without holding back…
if people read it or not is our problem.
People don’t change MMORPG’s mechanics. They change the feeling of the game. Do you know what makes friends on an MMORPG? A friend list. Parties. Whiserping. All of those are broken. It’s their fault.
Thanks for the advice. The main reason I can unintentionally post essays is I try to have empathy in my posts and seek it out of others, I myself don’t like long post that don’t need to be long, but want to make sure others know all of my feelings and end up sharing to many stories and experiences.
@apophize I know what you mean, all I want people to realize is the opportunity here, yes the way players normally interact is stripped away, but with that you can get great feelings normally only achievable in single player RPGs… you can experience all of this in a big community, with countless strangers. Since its only temporary and we know it won’t be like this forever its better to just try it than say the game is broken.
i agree in some part but, you are talking about a comunity , how do i even start a comunity if i can’t make a list on friends in game? and aniway, this beta will soon be finished so there is not really a point to make a big and nice community for now, probably there will be a nice one once the open beta start. but for now everything will be wiped out, and expect for forum there is no way to find people in game you played with once. since too many problems , no able to log in , not able to add friends, different time zone etc etc
@zaimt I agree wholeheartedly. Since this is is a beta test and it was given out for free, we have no right to complain. As players, we have the role of indirectly, or directly helping them polish the final product. There are one or two points we can complain about, I’m sure, but as a whole, we should be grateful for the opportunity.
Also, It’s horrible to hear that most people don’t have the patience to read. It’s not that long of a text. I’ve read longer and rather pointless essays that go everywhere.

too long didn’t read. I just play the beta and whine if something pisses me off. And if devs fix it I give a thumps up.

Well, you committed Suicde by reading it. <_<
I stopped reading after 2nd paragraph. Maybe imc should explain to us how things work so we don’t get the wrong idea in the first place? Also, not saying anything for 12 hours on an issue people are having in game makes us feel like they don’t care. Informing the community in a prompt manner about issues and their plan to fix them would shut most people up and put them at ease. That is not to much to ask for…
You could had just written that TL;DR part. No one has time to read your wall of passionate text.
