sorry if it’s a dumb question, but this aspersion bonus dmg applies only to you or to all the people you use the buff on?

its the actual magic damage from the skill, its listed here
the buff it gives is % bonus armor which works better with plate sets.
aspergellium, the chaplains buff will make you cast aspersion each time you auto attack, but you wont give the armor bonus to your party if its cast this way, it will only do its magic damage

the scaling is only applied to str and int since they are the main stats
for scaling damage it will get even more crazier once 10 ranks are in the game, int and str will be doubled by the time you reach rank 10.
con and spr are problem solvers for filling a lack of utility and defense in a build

and it applies to stats you get from items and other sources too

you have all 3 as a choice and ill outline the strengths
cafrisun set (leather)
will net the most damage and is extreamly cheap (around 20k for the whole set on the market and it can be farmed from srautas gorge), its good for soloing its a lvl 15 set and it adds 1 extra line of damage to your attacks, it basically gives you another sacrament buff, but your very squishy with it on.
take this set and use it forever or until 170ish, its extremely helpful for leveling.
cloth
probably the weakest choice, but if you want both moderate defense and some damage cloth is a good choice, it provides magic defense and most of the sets give magic amplification (maximum damage for magic attacks), it also has the added benefit of giving you a higher sp pool so chugging higher lvl potions is somewhat more effective.
plate
the best choice for pure defense, plate gives loads of hp and armor, whats neat about plate is that its armor is increased using aspersion, you can get very tanky since you mitigate a moderate amount of physical damage(the most common damage type in the game) and you have heals to keep you topped up.
the choices are really up to your playstyle, if you like dps go with cafrisun(leather) if you like supporting and tanking go with cloth or plate.
