I know that fact, but it’s strange to celebrate new year at a time where nothing is happening.
Afaik the Chinese new year is the new year of the lunar calendar, however, the new year on the lunar calendar (which is after ~13 months a 28 days) usually starts with the winter solstice (like e.g. the German tribes celebrated it) or the summer solstice (in Ancient Greece the year started around the 21st of June).
Starting a year inbetween solstice and equinox is just unnatural xD
