Griefing in lvl 90 dungeon from a single player who wanted to boss rush while his team wanted a full clear

I’m offended.

I’m a little offended by your comment.
I’m offended to know where this comes from.
I’m even more offended to remember that I have watched this poor excuse of a movie.

So if your goal was to offend me, you’ve done it with great success

I dont see how griefing is not a reportable offense? Just because the systems allows you to do something doesnt mean you should be doing it. Especially when your negatively impacting a group of players in ways admins haven’t predicted.

It’s not griefing when he’s doing what he should do.

Aka kill the boss.

There’s no rule to “need to clear dungeon”.
Except if boss is hidden behind a wall, as long as mobs remain on the map.

Anyone could predict that… they just hoped he would go in solo as it’s faster then queing up for 20 minutes. (which is sadly faster and easyer… then dc with commander fail 1000 times).

Yeah its not griefing when you take the other people of the picture as you are doing. But I don’t know maybe can we just add those people back into the equation just maybe cause you know thats where the griefing part comes in. Its not rocket science maybe you can play the game and still be an ahole at the same time. There this thing called common decency theres no law saying you cant throw your baby thirty feet in the air then catching it, but you can sure as hell know that isnt right. Why are you defending this guy?

Because it simply isn’t griefing …

If he went in and used red orbs to kill you with level 200 mobs.
That would be griefing.

Or if he destryos your heal tiles and spells … to hinder you on killing the boss, as to end the dungeon.

Him doing what the game is made, just wihtout clearing the dungeon isnt griefing.
It’s just a bit unfair to you other guys…

The problem springs from three things:

  1. Player Ettiqutte deteriotion since a few years.
  2. Commander Fail
  3. Dungeons without a Lock on the boss before clearing the whole thing or minibosses atleast.

You can’t punish someone for doing something that is realted to the goal of an dungeon … only cause he did it solo and didn’t even think about how you would feel.

I have a solution (that doesn’t involve the more abusable solution of allowing others to kick the griefer)

Currently, the instance automatically kicks you if you kill the boss. That shouldn’t be the case. It should be the following:

  1. Map kicks you out only when ALL mobs are dead.

Problem A: I don’t want to have to kill all mobs to finish the dungeon.
Solution A: Have an exit portal at the end of the boss.

  1. Just have an exit portal at the end of the boss.

Problem B: Too many instances running on the server will clog up if people can stay in there.
Solution B: Automatically kick once all the mobs are dead.

So the best solution is to combine both an exit portal + auto kick at the end of a full clear. This allows the people who are being griefed to still complete the dungeon, while ensuring that there is still no risk of remaining in the dungeon for an eternity. But note that there is already a 1h limit on dungeon so the ‘clog’ problem really isn’t a problem in the first place.

The weakness of this solution is that it still places the burden on the aggrieved members to clear the dungeon without the help of the griefer, but I guess that’s much better than having no solution at all.

It is better than the solution of forcing some bosses behind roadblocks as it still allows boss rushing.

This is not griefing. The goal was to kill the boss.

It is a simple case of being unlucky enough to party with an a$$hole who only cares about his experience and not about yours.

This is an MMO, there are many more players like that a$$hole. Get used to it.

if they want boss rush they should go on a boss rush party not use match maker, this is really stupid and yes I agree they should make it punishable.

Wouldnt be better to put a top level limit on the dungeon for using the queue? I mean if at one point you’re so high level the mobs will barely give you exp you dont need the +600% boost either right?

If you want to prevent such experience then you can just find other party members before going to the dungeon. Same applies to people who wan to rush boss. That way both parties get what they want.

or just boss rush… jk my popcorn ran out

Just set up something like a level restriction for dungeon party search. Simple as that. Or group players in similar level range.

happens only because entering was broken, right now idk if it’s fixed yet.
