Gravity pole crashes game

Yah… disabling FXAA doesn’t work, I was just real lucky that it never happened to me for an entire day of having it disabled.

Hey I (and likely very many more people) was just wondering if there was an ETA on this fix or if this may be, or possibly will be included in the upcoming patch on Tuesday?

New patch tmr and still no fix…i have a feeling they are unable to fix this bug like the bullet hell crash back in ICB2 so they totally scrapped it

I may have found a possible work-around.
If you’re a kino3, lend a hand and test this to help the developers pin-point the cause:

Grav pole doesn’t seem to crash the client when hitting large groups of enemies
IF there is a Raise spell cast on the screen.

It seems like some part of the code is referencing a non-existant list or array variable and looping until it finds it- in this case never, so it locks up the client.
This likely has something to do with Grav Pole’s gravitation effect in-game.

The Raise spell may somehow preventing the missing variables from being destroyed until the spell effect is over.

I’ve tested this a few times, if the Grav Pole is still hitting a large number of enemies when Raise ends, it has a high chance of freezing the client.

As someone previously stated, server latency may have an effect on this, as developer testing likely happens on a local network, ping is never an issue.

if this post does reach IMC, i suggest adding a skill attribute that disables the gravitation effect- allowing the public to test for more insight.

I can confirm this; been farming noticing that every-time I put down a Raise spell, and you literally beat me to the same explanation about the gravitation effect causing the crashing - not the programming related details though.

You absolutely are onto something here - no question about it.

It’s a real shame that staff are not very active here in keeping us up to date with things that completely ruin gameplay like this and also Sadhu OOB position de-syncs.

For me my client crashed a lot when i use gravity pole ‘naked’, but much less when i sneak my pole into some trees, raise, blah blah whatever effects that going on or isit just me.

And also yeah yuki i do believe that they ‘dont know’ how to fix it too. I mean the question is does ktos has this bug also? If not why dont they just copy data from ktos and paste on itos

I know its more complicate than that but many times itos updates were identical to ktos no? Or maybe they’re asking ktos team to help idk…

22 days and nothing yet? and in the patch notes from tomorrow there is nothing, so seems another week without pole in dungeons :(, it can’t be THAT HARD

Just reached PSYCHOKINO C3 after a long journey it has been as Wiz c3 and kino c2
I was using Gravity Pole and happy with it… 5 mins later every attempt of using gravity pole it crashes my game
Is it serious? come on dev team, do your job and fix it
I didnt waste freaking crazy time till lvl 180 to finally do something and my main skill gets bugged

Bug happens way more when servers are laggy.

Still no fix zzzz.
But since the bug is graphic related i hope the optimize will solve this issue too.
