I’m far from your misguided white knight, comment. I’m just old enough, mature enough, and realize this “video game” hasn’t harmed me in any such way that I feel the need to repeatedly comment mentally challenged post filled with hue.

1 is a good unknown reason
another is annoying annoying unknown reason
I feel sorry for this somewhat optimistic thread turning into something otherwise. But it can’t be helped…
I’ll probably jump to the hate bandwagon since whit-I mean, optimistic people missed the point of the second post and the rants of others here.
Banning the minority doesn’t stop the majority.
Putting the bot’s team name in a line of codes towards banning is easy.
So does making another Steam account.
So does making another character.
This is just like an epidemic. You don’t stop it from just curing the infected. You find the cause and prevent it from spreading or damaging the body.
The problem is that bots won’t stop “botting” even if they get banned. You need something to prevent them from coming back.
I am glad that someone feels grateful for their activity. That is nice nonetheless.
But there is a reason why many isn’t. Just like what I stated above.
Like i said, i dont expect IMC to find the major problem…i just appreciate they make a move in Itos…
a month ago IMC so lack of communication and service…bad compesation…like i said 2 month both with same name still there…no active gm ask for problem after maintanance…resulting in player anger and some quit…
i appreciated them because they dare to make a move and improve their service…i dont expect them to do the major problem…
u know, u cant just stop people from botting, even if u ban their steam acc, band IP…there always a way to do botting, usually people that do this always have high or medium knowledge about computer…they can just easily create new one…
But if u keep banning them actively…u didnt give them period to farming and selling or buying…they will feel the pressure…the reason why so much bot before because they have no pressure…they can just easily place their bot for over a month and let the cash roll without having ban…but now i see decreasing in bot…still have but not so much…this because if ur bot keep getting ban…u dont have time to reroll and farming…u only have period of 24hr farming before u getting ban…and the next day u need to create new one…and next to 2 day getting ban again…u know some botter moral will go down…
the only way to completely stop botter is to make them irrelevant…u make silver so easy drop, mats and those thing that need to farm…because u can easily get silver and item…why should people buy from bot if they can just easily get those…the other way around is completely block all trade, means u need to farm yourself…but this way will hurt the player so so so much.
like i say the only effective way is to actively banning them by having active staff…have u ever seen MMO that infected with bot can cure them?..u tell me which MMO can completely kill the bot.
Drakensang online xD, Grim dawn, Diablo 3, Star wars the old republic
The important thing isnt banning those little bots. Everyone knows that it is a waste of time. To deal with botters, you need to find out the client/customer/intention of the botter. It doesnt matter how large the scale of a botter is, gererally they have a ‘collector’ account or sometimes the main account. They usually wont risk those collector account. Whenever those little bots collected a certain amount of items or silver, they will transfer those items to the collector character to prevent loss from ban. Common sense tells us that bots will never give anyone free stuff. Doesn’t matter who the botters trade with, those people must be either the ‘actual bot owner’s main character’ or ‘collector character’ or ‘some random RMT player’. All players fall into these categories are in some way guilty to cheating thus deserve ban. Those small scale/bot program buyer player wont have the patience to endure constant bans on main accounts. If you cant get much from the bots, it will be pretty much useless to bot. Does IMC ban people who trade with the bots? Meh this is too complicated for IMC. And they keep saying they have access to some sort of player activity log…
Have you ever seen any of those 180+ areas? Full of 200+ lvl bots haha dina bee and vilna forest are the home of bots with the slaughterer achievement
I get it, you’re happy they made a move. But please don’t try to shove it on us because user experience differs from another person. And the way you put it also very much contradicts what you say.
Now this my friend, lies the big problem. Note the lines I made bold.
This just shows that you’re also majorly disappointed like the rest of us. You don’t even believe that they’ll deal with this issue seriously. That just shows they’re incompetent.
Yet you still appreciated that they banned quite a few bots.
If you are content with this kind of treatment, fine. I will not take that from you because you felt the difference. You felt they heard your pleas. IMC actually made one player happy.
But we still don’t feel grateful. Lowbies in Tenet Church didn’t. Guys at Dina Bee Farm also didn’t.
This recent banning activity is active, yes. But by what degree?
Yes, you’re probably right. But do you really think they will feel pressured by a small-scale mass ban?
We don’t see the decline… at all.
World of Warcraft. Dragon Nest SEA.
But if we go by the standard of not seeing EVEN ONE bot, no I haven’t experienced one yet. Which is probably the answer you’re looking for.
Fact is, people and players; with our without deep knowledge regarding computer literacy, will always try to find holes in your system. They’ll always find a way to exploit out of your game. You can only desire a software to be 99% fool-proof because perfection can never be attained because someone can always find holes within your work.
The games I mentioned are some that made “botting” irrelevant.
In a sense that it isn’t the best or great way to produce profit, it hurts much of the playerbase no longer, or continuing to do so yields greater risk not just for an account ban but eventually towards your IP addresses.
Small-scale activity doesn’t make us grateful, yet.
And of course, everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Try again sir. No, not even AAA MMOs with huge budgets can stop Bots. Don’t believe me? Do a bit of research, see all the bot programs for WoW as well as there’s quiet a few videos of people botting in Legion. Bots for the most part are a general waste of time to even bother with unless they’re player owned. “Farmers” can mass replicate them and often do. The fact that I’ve seen IMC deal with Bots over and over since EA is enough for me to be grateful they’re even bothering.
Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of thing’s I’m not super happy about; but bots aren’t one I happen to care about in general.
Edit: The few Bots in Dina bee should be dealt with, but the AFK Necros aren’t in account for that. Dina Bee is in general a waste for anything more than finishing your quest even since the early days.
If it’s about Legion then I don’t know. I don’t own one
And I never said you can completely stop botting. It’s one of the most infamous problems in online RPG gaming ever since for a reason.
But I was glad when they dealt with some of the bot programs specializing in BG and * surprise * Archaeology.
You gotta hate when like 50% of yours or enemy’s team you are fighting with for a flag are robots, like what the hell, they even defend LOL
The thing is, how the game is designed as opposed of how can bot effectively harm players differs majorly between WoW and ToS.
Just like you mentioned, Dina Bee is practically useless if you want to quest or grind since it’s overrun by bots and AFK Necromancers. AFK farming would be another topic to discuss but the point is one shouldn’t be hindered that much in their journey or progress, specially for a main quest, just because of this bad game design. It can be concluded that this is the root problem than the “botting” itself.
