Good Fencer stats & Leather or Plate Mastery?

Bumb~ i rly need help x.x

You do want Peltasta for that +18% evasion and the other benefits. The extra damage from Swordsman C2 is insignificant.

The stat allocation you are using is fine for a Fencer. A tip is to evaluate constantly your character and decide if you are comfortable with it or if you would like to have more of something then add more of that stat (STR, DEX or CON). So most likely you will end up with a different ratio from what you originally started with.

If I had to do it again I would not go peltasta or bother with evasion. It’s easy enough to just use flanconnade to block.

I was thinking about that, using Flanconnade when Lunge is on cooldown to block attacks.

you COULD use flanconnade, but theres still part of the animation where you canb be hit, and the additionnal evasion and block from guardian and having a shield cant be replacer by just spamming flanconnade. In the end, in dungeons, its archers and mages doing most of the damage, so having more tools to get aggro and survive is never a waste.

If going pvp, sw2 might be nice, but you are skipping tools in palesta that are impossible to replace with anything else for PvE.

It CAN be replaced, actually. It’s silly.

Not that you have a choice since Equive Toucher and Lunge don’t actually seem to give any actual evasion rate boost at all.

Can you tell me if i’m in higher level maps be able do dodge enemy attacks?
And is it helpful against Boss Monster?
I rly like Fencer but if i’m not able to dodge high lvl Monster attacks its kind of useless?

Edit: Off-Topic ~ Just in case i change my mind with Fencer i would go Dragoon, can you tell me what is a good stats/skill & class path?

At least in 120+ mercenary and 115 dungeon, my archer with 2:1 STR-DEX can evade most of the physical attack~I hope this info can help~

My leather armor at lvl28 and +14% evade with buff~

You can still consistently dodge attacks from physical attacking mobs at higher levels.

Kinda, against bosses usually it is smarter to move away from their big skills or block them with your shield.

Too many to list in here, better to check the guides and find one that appeals to you.

is the question here answered?
just curious, a build of sw > pelt > barb2 > cors > fen2
what is better for pvp, a plate or leather?

For generalized PvP, I’d say plate only because magic doesn’t miss. You can’t evade it. Plate has a nice HP increase and 5% damage reduction with three pieces, and it really shines with a 15% reduction and stamina boost using four.

The extra damage from Swordsman C2 is insignificant.

I would not say it is insignificant, honestly. In order to keep Guardian up one would lose 12 Phys atk plus the 85 he isn’t gaining from a Lv.10 Gung Ho, that’s 97 Physical right there which at least I would consider pretty significant for a long time. 1.5x and +Attribute Lv.% if he criticals with a decently Enhanced skill.

ohh thanks  ,haha well, i already accept the fact that you cant do anything with magic, unless you’ll be using dispeller. specially being a swordsman. xD

how about given a scenario of:

pvp duel 1v1:
1 .Dopp2 vs Fen2(both dex type)
2. or any kind of duel with swordsman vs swordsman? (both dex)
3. Swordsman(dex type) vs. Archer

Then go leather for sure for all three instances. Two DEX type Swordsman would not only come down to some luck and skill, but who has the higher DEX. (I’m having a really interesting mental image right now…) Accuracy and evasion would determine a lot. Same thing for Archer, though Archers are much more of a pain in the arse, especially if it’s a QS or anything Scout related. I’m not sure how to win there 1v1 beyond getting lucky with a hook or Seism stun.

I prefer leather my self.

  1. Although I’m still in rank 6, here’s an example of fencer vs doppel(both dex type)
  2. I’m uploading a match of my fencer vs cataphract (stay tuned.) :joy:
  3. Sadly, I forgot to record my pvps with archers. What I did was I switched to a two-handed sword and used Cross Guard, when they got staggered, I dashed towards them and used Iron Hook + Highlander/Fencer combo.

Keep in mind that the difference between Gung Ho level 5 and 10 is only 15 attack. By going Pelt you’ll always have that choice between attack or evasion depending on the map instead of being stuck with an extra 15 attack which is not useful in parties because of the amount of buffs. Having that choice has worked out well for me but these days I use Guardian far more frequently and not noticing much if anything in terms of kill speed.

Here you go.

ohh, awesome pvp. :+1:

actually, i have 2 swordsmen, both fencer2. one is: (1) sw > pelt > high3 > fence2 and the other one is (2) sw > pelt > barb2 > fen2.

using (1) build, i find it too unfair, cause im using most of the time a shield/block. and i realize that was not my real gameplay. i prefer a head-on fight. so that came me to my build (2).

my question is, do you think fencer really needs a shield? specially when it comes in pvp? (im thinking of the best alternative solution to avoid cyclone(specially).)

Without a shield, you’ll just eat Cyclone and Rush. Although you can block it with flaconnade, but still, there’s a little window where those ticks do hit you.
As soon as I land Iron Hook, I switch to dagger for more DPS, if they live after the combo, switch back to shield again until Iron Hook. Sometimes, if the enemy is too fast(example: cataphract), I switch to a twohanded sword and use Crossguard. Once they get rooted, it’s just easy as going up to them and tie em up with Iron Hook and then do your combo.

It’s kind of a cheesy strat, but I dont think it comes close to the cheesiness of cataphracts, restrain + hit + run + EW + RUSH :joy:

yea, that’s what my conclusion is. shield will really plays an important role specially if you’re a swordsman.

well, these inputs really helps me. thanks! :+1:
