From a lvl 190+

the worst part about a toxic community is how many people try to deny it exists.
Could you please elaborate on said “abuse”? lol
pls read the thread. He stated it pretty clearly what he thinks about the toxicity/abuse in this game.

“some people abusing other people’s good nature”

I’m asking for an example, why does he say it only happens at 170+ lol. “Toxicity” can mean something different depending on the person. I dont agree that the fact that some people want to keep secrets for themselves as toxic, I do think its stupid and kinda assholey, but not toxic. If they want to keep secrets so they are the first to reach 200, they’ve the right to do so.

I’m asking bc I play on gabija, reached 145 and havent seen/been abused so far. Besides the stupid shout bubble(that you can freely disable) that from time to time goes completely retard

your toxic because i say so

i abuse by naming +10 Weapon to a 0 upgrade weapon with flavor text of +30 STR +30 INT

o.o what? /20characters

Yeah, I have to admit. I remember when this game was still called Project R1 that the interaction between players would be more than just… Bonfires, dungeons and grind.

I started to see the abuses directly after becoming a Squire, though.

People refusing to pay? partying you fr buffs then kicking you :O? trying to understand

i would have like it if it followed GE multiple character control system.

If you play as a Wizard you will see a lot of abuse, especially if you were playing at the beginning of the CBT when the maps were very competitive. Lots of kill stealing, especially by archers and barbarians. The former I can forgive because I understand it’s hard to see someone attacking a monster because your range is almost a whole screen away, but barbarians usually don’t give a ■■■■. I’ve chased them down only to be told “lol who cares”. And really, that question is correct. Who cares? IMC clearly doesn’t, as they haven’t really addressed the DEX issue even after seeing it as a problem in iCBT1.

I’ve even run into people actually following me around, waiting for me to gather a mob, then once I go to drop a meteor they run in and steal it. Worse than that, these kinds of people existed before I got to Ele2 in the form of people waiting for me to round up their mobs and weaken them so they could overkill them and get the quest counter for themselves. I wish IMC would implement a mob claiming feature to prevent these things.

Lots and lots of scammers in Klaipeda Ch.1, too. I’ve confronted them on shout and been told “who gives a damn? This is CBT so we can do whatever we want.” That answer was pretty disappointing and showed just how little people intend to get along if they don’t have to.

Overall the community in this game seems very hard to get along with at times, even though I’ve had the grace of running into some very friendly people.

Scammers can be found with ease…

We see ppl constantly asking for questions, and being answered with awful jokes like “alt+f4”. (And everyday I see the word “mom” in the shout. Frankly…)

Keep secrets, use ppl as disposable tools, everything for personal gain… These are symptoms of a sociopath, if you don’t know.

Anyway, I’m just having these problems cuz my real friends were out of CBT.

thats what I dont get.

As I said keeping secrets is normal in an mmorpg, I did it in RO and a few pple I know did so too after obt. Some people only want to rush to max level first

The scamming is the people buying stuff for barely any silver right? trying to get cheap mats?

Best way to avoid all the toxic people is to just take the game at your own pace. Play it for short bursts and quit it when you feel it’s a chore, that way you won’t get near the competitive-minded people who seem to prefer watching numbers grow rather than any kind of social interaction.

No offense, but you have some kind of social disorder? Seriously, at least I can’t explain better than I’ve tried. Ppl being used as tools, how can you don’t understand…?

About the scamming, there are several ways… Karjalainen showed 1 of them, and u replied “what?”… I’m starting to think you aren’t playing this game at all. :grimacing:

I even was thinking about the Alchemists, who apparently can only awaken items in their inventory. That is, if I want to awaken one item I would have to borrow this item and… Well, I hope I’m wrong about this one.

they want you to sell things to them at worse prices than you can sell to the vendors. A lot of people are too stupid/bad at checking the price, but if they would just look they would know they’re being cheated really hard. Same with monster gems. I see them going for 100k on Laima, but if people would factor in to how hard it is to get some of them on purpose, they should not be selling them for the same price as one LV170 recipe. People are too easily fooled, and the number of people trying to fool them are numerous. The scammers don’t even show remorse when I confront them, either. They’re just like “hey that just makes me a good merchant.” It makes you a good merchant, yeah, but ultimately you’re a shitty person at the end of the day.

Dota 2’s community toxicity is equivalent to LoL tbh.

A kind reminder to players from both game, please don’t start a debate on which is better.

Not different from the alchemist/BS of RO in anyway. If you wanted to be “safe” you needed to find a trusted smith or ask for collateral. I do understand where you are coming from, but those can be avoided

Trying to misleadingly sell an item(putting +10 on tag/+10 stat on flavor text) is indeed scamming and should be reported. However trying to buy something cheaper than npc/a desired mat for 30-100 silver isnt. You’ve the right to choose if you want to sell it or not. I’ve seen this in countless MMOs, people buying zerom cards off of people for 800k-1M, people buying items for 1/5 of their price. I’m not saying its “right” but there is no real reason for you to punish/ban them. I mean if they wanted to forbid it, they should only allow you to set the “buy-in” price as low as the NPC price.

I would argue that buying stuff at reasonably low price is the foundation of a merchant player (not to the point of scamming). It’s really hard to find the line between low price and scamming though.

Wizard problem wise, seriously, damn those kser, that made me understand how cruel the society is again (I would think it’s actually the game design that made them to be some fag actually).

How so? Why would anyone need alchemists in RO?

And your solution is pretty damn stupid. So I need trusted ppl to not being scammed? OH, GREAT. I WILL TELL THE WORLD ABOUT THIS DISCOVERY. :expressionless:

No, seriously. Alchemists could awaken items in other players inventory, simple as that.

or spent hours fooling around town, chat and doing nothing, go to low level areas and offer help for boss battles.

shopping ingredient to sell overpriced crafting equipment and then have a scam flavor text

To make blue pots, condensed/slim white potions?. Same for blacksmiths? to make elemental weapons? I dont understand how you never needed/used a creator to make potions for you, even if he was a guildmate. Farm blue herbs>give blue herbs+mats to creator>ask him to just charge you for the service. Used to be cheaper for me than outright buying blue pots

Once game goes open beta it wont be hard for you to find a trusted alchemist. I’m pretty sure that after a few weeks a few alches will put up an “awakening” thread on the forums.

I do not have a “solution” but given how the skill is designed to work, thats the best solution you can choose. I also love how you totally didnt read the part about how you can ask for collateral on your first services. If they refuse to give a collateral(something that is worth around the same) then keep it means that one is probably a scammer.

Well, in both ToS and RO you can, simply, buy the alchemists potions. You see? The SAFE way is implemented in the game as an alternative for those who don’t want to risk it. Just like any trade.

To the awaken stuff, it just doesn’t happen. That’s the point I’m getting at, safe alternatives. Buy awakened stuff surely isn’t easy as buy potions or blacksmith weapons…

And I love how you had all your arguments blasted, and is still trying be right in… Something. This collateral thing… Frankly.
