Diablo III. Humorously, it makes me think of how fun an exp and item grind game game with absolutely no trading can be. (Well, you can trade things that drop to members of your party when the item dropped - but that’s it!)
When the expansion RoS came out, they just removed the market system, adjusted drop rates so that everyone could farm what they needed, and implemented gambling systems to could spend currency (also totally untradeable) for extra chances at key items players might need for their builds.
The game is so much better without any trading. It’s an interesting case study.

Stardew Valley, self challenge: get to 1 million in the first year, only using seeds/items found in the forest and my farm. Because screw the shopkeeper, he’s more of a prick than Jojamart.
So far I’m in fall, and at 750,000 from my maple sap tree farm.
