I don’t have much to lose, so I’ll give this a shot xD I’m also aware that I might get flak for this since it’s a relatively unpopular opinion in the West.

"When nine and nine meet nine, the depths of reason shall stir.
When the seal of creation is broken, a voice like thunder shall sound,
And thou shalt know—we have arrived."

Most people have heard of Final Fantasy, and many of those have played the famous (or infamous) games the series has had to offer. The latest that has come under Western scrutiny (and my favorite of all time) is Final Fantasy Type-0. Now, I’m almost 21 and haven’t had the time to play many video games due to studies, so the magic I felt when I played games like Kingdom Hearts and Ragnarok Online has long faded. I was convinced that I was just growing out of gaming in general, and didn’t really expect much from any new games that come to my attention. Final Fantasy Type-0 manages to break me out of my dull experiences with video games the second I layed eyes on its stunning CG opening. It captured all the immersive magic from my past games like Kingdom Hearts, but with a mature and morally gray narrative (your main characters are child soldiers, for Pete’s sake). From a mechanically fast-paced gameplay to a heartbreaking storyline, this game has been simply unforgettable to me. Like the Vermillion Bird from the lore, my passion for gaming rose in flames from the ashes after playing Final Fantasy Type-0.

Sidenote to potential haters who played the HD ver.: I played the original Japanese PSP version with an English patch after hacking my PSP. Fite me.

Not OP but I saw Type-0 in previews and was relatively unimpressed, but KH is one of my favorite series, and if you can compare it with that, combined with your description,it makes me more curious to maybe try it one day.

Good job @Vivitix.

Here it is:
My favorite game of all time is Mount and Blade: Warband. It’s the greatest and one of the most unique games I have ever played.

It all starts with the RPG factor. You customize your character (stats, skills, proficiency, and face) and you get dropped off in one of the main cities in the game. After that opening quest, you… can do anything you want. Fight bandits, join an army, trade goods, protect caravans, and even build your own army. The most enjoyable part for me, as many would agree, is to just recruit a massive army, join a kingdom, and wreak havoc, eventually earning my way to start my own kingdom.

I can’t tell you how excited I am for Mount and Blade II: Bannerlord to be released (god willing). To get back into the same world with better graphics, new and improved systems (trading, sieges, diplomacy), and more mods will be kind of a dream come true, but I’ll just have to wait for that.

Thanks for doing the giveaway!

Hi Melon,

Type-0 is one of those games that seem “meh” at first (but KH was the same, because who’d’ve thought a combination of Disney and Squeenix would work LOL), but once you do some digging and look past the surface, it’s a very layered and heavy game. I would even go so far to say that Kingdom Hearts was my favorite series until Type-0 came along just because KH applied more to me as a child and Type-0 appeals to me as a young adult.

Also, I do admit the HD version seems disappointing :c It was a pretty sht port from PSP to PS4/Steam. Squeenix why.

Guess i’ll join too :P, my favourite game of all time is Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time mainly because of nostalgia factor, it was soo much fun exploring that world and playing with my brother sitting next to me when i was a child Ahaha.
I also love Ragnarok online (Who would’ve thought), it was the first mmo that i played, my brother recommended it to me and it was really amazing it got me hooked to online games.
Honerable mentions: Kingdom hearts(soo good) and Witcher 3.
And yeah you asked for 1 game but i’ve played soo many it’s hard to choose aha.

F**** this since i wanted it so bad alright

Game: the immortal Ragnarok online.
Why: because the game f**** defined me.
Date: 2002 - 2003
Reason: there were several but 2 were most memorable: 1st I was kicked out of the guild because i missed our meeting due to my appoint to the doctor. went in for circumcision. when i told my mates. they laughed and ignore me for 2 weeks. one of them was my classmate and sadly he brodcasted it in school class. 2nd - my parents almost caught me multiple times watching porn. RO was open during those several occasions, and ALT-TAB (ing) saved me. Lessons learned: Can save u, can F*** u up sometimes, but in the end, MMORPGS defines us. just lives on forever in our memory. story was 15 years ago btw. still reminiscing the good old days.

wew. hope i satisfy your boredom.

-small price you have to pay to have a fighting chance getting that key. AND BECAUSE THIS SITE IS F******* up, for some reason i cant reply, pm and send ■■■■ using my alternative account, i had to use my own fb. ow well.

Ragnarok Online

I dont play games by myself, i always play with friends and this was a game i played with a lot of friends and actually made some IRL friends from there that i still hangout with them, my friends are going to play this game but i got here late :frowning:, anyway, good luck to everyone here  seems like everyone has a great story with games.

Maplestory was definitely one of my first and all time favorite games to play back in my childhood~

I know it may not look appealing to some, but the 2-D graphics, adorable characters, cute monsters, and simple yet difficult (back before the bigbang patch) game play really attracted me. I remember the first guild I joined named, “Firefly.” To be honest, we were a group of dorks :stuck_out_tongue:

However, to me they were like family. Everyday after middle school I would log on to Maplestory and start chatting away for hours while we party up and whack away at the mighty King Slime!~ Letting the time fly XD

One of my favourite memories was visiting the flee market trying to make a couple hundred zeny selling “work gloves,” It was a rough time being a noobie Q_Q

Although in a few months, I became pretty good at the game (in my opinion), haha. Our guild was still up and running; recruiting new players along the way~

Our first mighty guild achievement: destroying Balrog on the ship to Orbis

Though after a while our guild grew apart. The game changed and everyone moved on.
Up to this day I still log on once in a while to see how the game’s progressing, but sadly it’s dying real fast. Maybe Maplestory 2 will be another great experience for me? However, I doubt it’ll be the same…

Thank you for this giveaway <3

Here’s a “first look” video I found if you want to see how it looks like :stuck_out_tongue:

Not sure I have time for closed beta, but would share my memorial moments.
I was playing in a private server with my brother. Back then, I just graduated from University, and we are very poor, so a free server means a lot for my siblings. And since we are poor, we don’t have money to get good items. My younger brother and I share the dropped items (SS card, good drops, and etc.). We try to plan out what we want to farm, and work together. As hard as we try to make, we can only afford a +8 Bone Helm (he was merchant and I was swordsman), so we decided to buy one and have him keep it, and he was very happy. After all these years (after working for 15 years, and I moved out a few years ago), that is the only thing I did for him as an older brother.

Really want to win this for my girlfriend so here goes

I like the game called life. Why? Because it resembles every single game I play and here is your guide to life.

Real life is the game that – literally – everyone is playing. But it can be tough.

Basics

You might not realise, but real life is a game of strategy. There are some fun mini-games – like dancing, driving, running, and sex – but the key to winning is simply managing your resources.

Most importantly, successful players put their time into the right things. Later in the game money comes into play, but your top priority should always be mastering where your time goes.

Childhood

Life begins when you’re assigned a random character and circumstances:

Select your character

The first 15 years or so of life are just tutorial missions, which suck. There’s no way to skip these.

Young adult stage

As a young player, you’ll have lots of time and energy, but almost no experience. You’ll find most things – like the best jobs, possessions and partners – are locked until you get some.

This is the time to level up your skills quickly. You will never have so much time and energy again.

Now that you’re playing properly, your top priority is to assign your time as well as possible. Every single thing you do affects your state and your skills:

This may sound simple, but the problem is you won’t always know what tasks to choose, and your body won’t always obey your commands. Let’s break it down.

How to obey your own commands

Many players find that when they choose to do something – say “go to the gym” – their body ignores them completely.

This is not a bug. Everybody has a state, which you can’t see directly, but looks something like this:

If your state gets too low in one area, your body will disobey your own instructions until your needs are met. Try studying when you’re exhausted and hungry, and watch your concentration switch to Twitter.

Your willpower level is especially important. Willpower fades throughout the day, and is replenished slightly by eating, and completely by a good night’s sleep. When your willpower is low, you are only able to do things you really want to.

Every decision you have to make costs willpower, and decisions where you have to suppress an appealing option for a less appealing one (e.g. exercise instead of watch TV) require a lot of willpower.

There are various tricks to keep your behaviour in line:

Keep your state high. If you’re hungry, exhausted, or utterly deprived of fun, your willpower will collapse. Ensure you take consistently good care of yourself.
Don’t demand too much willpower from one day. Spread your most demanding tasks over multiple days, and mix them in with less demanding ones.
Attempt the most important tasks first. This makes other tasks more difficult, but makes your top task more likely.
Reduce the need to use willpower by reducing choices. If you’re trying to work on a computer that can access Facebook, you’ll need more willpower because you’re constantly choosing the hard task over the easy one. Eliminate such distractions.
A key part of playing the game is balancing your competing priorities with the state of your body. Just don’t leave yourself on autopilot, or you’ll never get anything done.

Choosing the right tasks

Choosing the right tasks at the right time is most of the game. Some tasks mostly affect your state, e.g.

Eating boosts your stats

Others mostly affect your skills:

Rocking boosts your stats

You need to put time into things that ensure a healthy state – like food and sleep – to keep your willpower high. And then you need to develop your skills with what you have left.

Some skills are more valuable than others. Good ones can open up whole paths like a tech tree:

Skills

Others are dead ends:

Dead skills

Combinations of skills are the most effective. It’s very hard to max out one skill to be the best – in fact, that’s often impossible. But it’s much easier to get pretty decent at lots of related skills that amount to something bigger, e.g.

Recipe for a ladies’ magnet

See how psychology just helped you become both rich and attractive? You should study that.

Where you live

Your environment has a constant impact on your stats, skills, and your chances of levelling up.

It’s possible to play the game well almost anywhere, but it’s a lot easier in certain places. If you’re female and in the wrong country, for example, you can’t unlock many achievements.

The odds of anyone being born in their optimal location are virtually zero, so research your options, and consider moving early. Location is a multiplier to all of your skills and states.

Finding a partner

Attraction is a complex mini-game in itself, but mostly a byproduct of how you’re already playing. If you have excellent state and high skills, you’re far more attractive already. A tired, irritable, unskilled player is not appealing, and probably shouldn’t be looking for a relationship.

Marriage

Early in the game it can be common to reject and be rejected by other players. This is normal, but unfortunately it can drain your state, as most players don’t handle rejection or rejecting well. You’ll need to expend willpower to keep going, and willpower is replenished by sleep, so give it time.

80% of finding someone comes down to being your most attractive self, which – like so much in life – just means putting your time in the right places. If you’re exercising, socialising, well nourished and growing in your career, you will radiate attraction automatically. The remaining 20% is simply putting yourself in places where you can meet the right people.

Money money money

Later in the game you’ll have to manage a new resource called ‘money’. Most players will find money increases throughout the early game, but that this actually introduces more problems, not less.

Money money money

The most important rule of money is never to borrow it, except for things that earn you more back. For example, education or a mortgage can be worthwhile (but are not necessarily so, depending on the education or the mortgage). Borrowing to buy new shoes is not.

Depending on your financial ambitions, here are a few strategies to bear in mind:

Not fussed about money. The low-stress strategy: simply live within your means and save a little for a rainy day. Be sure to make the best of all the time you save though, or you’ll regret it.
Well off. Choose a career and environment carefully, and be prepared to move often to move up. You’ll need to invest heavily in matching skills, which will cost you time, and be careful not to abuse your state or you’ll burn out.
Mega rich. Start your own business. It’s almost impossible to get rich working for someone else. Riches do not come from work alone, they come from owning things – assets – that pay back more than they cost, and your own company is a powerful asset you can create from scratch. Compound your winnings into more assets, and eventually they can remove your need to work at all.
Later life

Your options change as the game progresses. Marriage and children will reduce your time and energy, and introduce more random elements into the game (“Emergency diaper change!”). This makes it harder to develop yourself as quickly.

Older characters usually have more skills, resources and experience, unlocking quests that were previously impossible, like “owning a house”, or “writing a (good) novel”.

Achievement unlocked: you’re old

All players die after about 29,000 days, or 80 years. If your stats and skills are good, you might last a little longer. There is no cheat code to extend this.

At the start of the game, you had no control over who you were or your environment. By the end of the game that becomes true again. Your past decisions drastically shape where you end up, and if you’re happy, healthy, fulfilled – or not – in your final days there’s far less you can do about it.

That’s why your strategy is important. & that is why i love the game called life. Now get playing

Hi. I really want a beta key so here it goes. I’m going to keep it short and sweet.
My favorite game is Dead Rising. The game has some funny dialogue while having a relatively serious story. The Characters are far from relatable but memorable. A good selection of weapons. You could dress up (or down) your character if you wanted. Pretty vast area of exploration. Oh and Zombies…you get to kill/run over/blow up lots and lots of zombies. I hope I’m picked. Thanks for doing this.

tales of vesperia hands down would probably be my favourite game, the characters are funny, the story is expansive, and the gameplay is awesome. Im bad at explaining it but hey its my favourite  .

give the credits… xD
