Dpk more difficult than before?

The solution is either fix the specific coding problem or alter the rate to an acceptable number. Then after they do that have a GM get online during the server down time and spawn 100 of the same monster over and over again making sure it actually works. Not hold a press conference with the media of why it is broken or the drop rate is low. The addressing is good, but the way it is being handled and more than likely going to be solved pretty poorly.

Has nothing to do with private servers at this point and that part of my statement is COMPLETELY irrelevant. I understand them being busy with other things which is a whole other problem of simply not having the resources to do exactly what I’m saying. It just starts to become a focal point for negativity when this happens all the time and people have to take it or leave it without a happy medium.

Nobody can take them seriously because this is barely acceptable.

It’s barely acceptable because they lack programmers. No self-respecting company would tolerate the issues this game has endured since launch. I also don’t agree with a press conference holding ceremony nor do I think they aren’t aware of the issue but that they simply can’t fix it because their netcode isn’t functioning properly.

At the end of the day we can argue about which method is best but time and time again has shown us that they don’t often offer solutions at our behest. More often than not, we’re told ā€œit’s working as intended.ā€

I do not think that many people from IMC play their game.

As for the RO statement, I was making a point to someone who claimed RO private servers spawned off accurate information. RO is such a badly hacked game with inferior game protection. People tested bots on the very same live servers without the need of switching to private servers. Self-sustained private servers funded themselves and still do today. TalonRO, et cetera are prime examples. And while I can ultimately concur that they did make a superior version of the game, that sort of dedication was few and far in a cest pool of RO private servers.

Chances are they don’t.

Even if they do, it’s probably not to the extent that we (the actual players) would like.

Besides, they have their actual job description to handle… the results of which are highly debated here in the forums.

Prolly not. It takes about 5 to 15 minutes spawning monsters through a command and killing them with another to test. What I wonder is if they were smart enough to copy the eAthena GM commands even having the ability to test it like that.

You even have the ability to check drop chance straight from the server databases to see if it is at a correct percent if enabled through an in game command too.

It could be they never have played RO either.

You dont need better or not bugged drop rates if you cannot even log in the game :wink:

My theory is that the new accumulative DPK only applies to materials and not actual recipies, gear and so on. I went on a Royal Guard recipe hunt and got exactly 8x of each recipe always near 100 kills, which is the DPK apparently of the item. Only very rarely did I get two recipies close to each other.

I hope the patchnotes for tommorow will bring a news about the drop rate it is really bad.

I don’t generally chime in on the forums, but please revisit the new DPK system @STAFF_Yuri . It’s so discouraging to finally acquire an orange recipe, then to kill 1200+ mobs and not a single material drops.

This risks scaring off players (compounded with other recent issues), and we’ve already lost enough people. :frowning:

D: I respect that kind of pain tolerance.

It really wasn’t that painful. I once spent a whole week camping Elgos Abbey killing Brown Harugals which max out at like 40 kills per hour trying to get Stropy Cannon. Didn’t get it even with 1000+ kills before maintenance hit and reset the DPK though. Now that was painful.

I think they just had how many hotfixes saying the daily reset was fixed and never really worked? Maybe they should make SPR increase drop chance so we can be like the joke of ktest here on iTOS.
