Current situation of ToS

Just because a company is small doesn’t mean they can’t work in a professional way. My father used to work for a very small software studio, they were less than 10 people. Did he use that as an excuse to deliver crappy code to his customers and not fixing bugs for months? Of course not, he’s a professional, no matter if the team he’s working with is huge or very small.

IMC put too much on their plate maybe, but it’s not like they started as a company yesterday. It’s sad that they can’t seem to manage their resources after being on the market for over 10 years. And they already have the next MMO in development…

And concerning them not speaking English very well, that’s just another embarrassing thing about this company. Koreans start to learn English in elementary school, (I started in middle school and I think my English is fine) but aside from that, if I’d decide to publish my game on the international market, I’d make sure that I have enough fluent English speakers on my support / community team first.

Even though I study computer science part time I’m of course not a game development pro. And I don’t think I said anything specific about developing games here …

In my opinion it’s just common sense that you don’t push your product (no matter if it’s a game or something else) on the international market, if you have no resources to manage your international customers.

Actually if you think of ToS being playable despite still being developed it is not that bad. Sure releasing it early destroys expectations but if they delay the release even further it might end up being vaporware instead. There are just too many other competitors out there which will snatch up the potential players if it is not released.

They (IMC) just chose the lesser of the two evils.

how about sending death threats?

jk

i just want to see how Rank 8 works before this game shuts down , and of course , all the Rank 8 Masters , because no matter how shitty the bugs and management of TOS , cant deny that superior art and soundtrack (it’s what keeps me from staying in the game tbh)

Im super positive alot of players would return if ToS decided to fix the FPS issues instead of listening to peoples screaming for more content.

Well ToS already had a bad impression to new and old players regarding those issues. I’m not sure they’ll come back just for that. We still encounter a lot of problems not just the FPS issues.

Well, the game once had 30k+ players. Didnt last long with all the bugs and IMC’s silence and incompetence. However, the interest from those players was there. It’s too late now most of those people will never come back. You underestimate how many of us loved Ragnarok and were very excited for this game.

While this game shouldn’t really be compared to ragnarok, we have to understand that when Ragnarok first came out it did have problems but there were way less games and especially MMOs coming out so people stuck around. The story is a lot more different nowadays. Too many good games coming out, therefore the player-base becomes less tolerant to behaviour like IMC’s and such game breaking bugs among an almost infinite number of problems this game has.

I do like the game, I hate how it’s being handled though.

Your positivity is appreciable, but one cannot underestimate the power of “first impressions”, most people tend to stick to theirs forever and ever. They won’t bother to come back to a game that frustrated and utterly disapointed them, even less considering how there’s so many good games out there…

How many times did you come back to a game that you thought was bad ? Prolly none right… Why would you expect other people to do so ? Even if you did came back to some game, what are the odds that everyone’s exception in the matter will be in favor of ToS and not some other game that deserve it more (FF14 for instance) ?

ToS had alot of Hype, far more than most games would even dare to dream of, yet IMC failed to deliver so, so hard that it’s incredible. They figured out how to change gold into plumb, isn’t it ironic, don’t you think ? ToS’s management will prolly result as a school case in futur gaming industry classes labelled “The things you shall avoid at all costs !”

Even if the game corrects ALL of it’s flaws, wich is not likely to happen at all considering IMC’s blantant incompentency and lazyness, most people will never come back, or at least the chances they do is so small it’s insignifiant, and even if some do, they won’t make up for all of thoses who had left.

It’s just that simple, its been said in news that IMC are working on optimizations (which to my impression is on a very low priority to them)

Some of my friends already told me they will be back once the fps is playable, there are even some posts saying theyre waiting for optimizations in this forum. I am also one of those palyers whos currently waiting.

I am sure there are more people who are just waiting.

By your logics, imc should just give up and close the game now, there is absolutely 0% chance that the population would ever get better, lol.

Did i misunderstand you?
