IMO itās just that endgame isnāt fleshed out enough and is pretty much just earth tower. Ideally there should be multiple endgame goals that different builds can be better or worse at - endgame world bosses arenāt as valuable and sought after as the earlier ones or else single target DPS builds would be viable endgame to do WBs as an alternative to earth tower. Pure farming classes donāt really have anything to farm endgame so they really just reach level cap fast and then die off. PvP characters are pointless because we have no real PvP yet, but thatās coming soon⢠so that can be the endgame for some people.
So sure thereāll always be a āmetaā for whatever kind of endgame youāre discussing, but the meta will vary from challenge to challenge, and ideally no one character will be best in dungeons, best in fields, best in bosses, and best in PVP.
Yeah I agree with this point. It is incredibly difficult to balance all the variety in this game without making everything feel the same. So it will always end up as certain combinations are better than others. I am not really sure what they should do about this at all.
If the game devolves into 1-2 meta builds each for sword/cleric/wizard I have a feeling the game will become horribly boring as variety becomes a thing of the past.
If the devs make everything balanced it will make choices not matter much anymore, just for aesthetic purposes at this point.
How do you win in this situation? Probably what you just said. More content that certain builds are better at than others. But also more party synergy potential.
I wonder if this game would do well with an actual combo system. Like say a barbarian walks onto a pyromancer firewall, he can whirlwind and light everything on fire. It would take a lot of work but it would increase potential party synergies to add more to diversity making everything feel unique and interesting.
But eh, food for thought but this idea will never happen.
