Corsair - Best sword?

Wondering what the best one handed sword is if used with arde dagger? Would love if someone could list them by levels, like when to buy another one at lets say level 120/170/220 etc. I’m at 140 and have no idea what to use as a one handed sword. A few that i can think of is maybe seimos sword, velniup and colichemarde. Durandal is a bit expensive at the moment i feel like, and is probably overkill for just leveling when i’m going to change it later on. Thanks in advance!

120
Dratt Sword
Velniup (really cheap and has a nice aoe ratio)
Trinity Sword (pretty expensive)

170
Aston Sword
Magas Sword
Catacombs Blade (suggested, the plate damage bonus is really important)

220
Vienie Koperon Sword
Superior Koperon Sword
Shark Cutter (extremely rare, from 280 world bosses probably)

what order would you rank the 220s, also what for later on than that?

and subweapon choice of dagger? venom/karacha or?

oh, running 2:1 str/dex

IMO skip the 220 swords and choose between Magas and Catacombs. The 220 swords offer crap stats or no stats at all and the attack difference is quite small and can be made up with enchancements, and Lolopanther is just an unrealistic target for the time being. Once you’ve decided, spend your spare change on upgrading them to as high as possible and wait until when you can get a hold of Lolopanther stuff (probably won’t happen until they raise level cap) or when they release new weapons (looking at you Master Sword).

Magas: Perfect for high DEX builds, providing just about everything you could ask for, including a big boost to your EHP in 2 forms, +HP and +evasion.

Catacombs: Great for PVP and higher level maps where you see lots of plate armor users. Some mobs will even block fairly often so you really can’t go wrong with this blade. If you didn’t go high DEX build then this is perhaps the better choice in terms of DPS if you can live without the extra EHP.

P.S. don’t spend too much on the 120 stuff if you’re not swimming in silver. Velniup is usually very cheap and if you can find a Seimos or Dratt really cheap then go ahead, otherwise just use the best white sword that’s reasonably priced and save money for the 170 ones. Level 140-170 happens really fast anyways so don’t fret too much.

I dont really recommend them, I haven’t used them myself.

But if you’re trying to save money by not buying two expensive 1H Swords, you can

get a Vienie Koperon Sword if you need the crit rate
Superior Koperon if aiming for raw damage

While maining catacombs blade, using only the two mentioned when you’re not getting the benefit catacombs blade has. But Magas Sword is really cheap now considering the number of people rushing 190 dungeon, so like I said, I don’t recommend the 220 swords.

It just happened that wizards don’t need some of the bonuses of what their 170 weapons give so they go with the raw magic power of superior corona rod while being easily obtainable

thanks, only at 200 atm so i hadn’t looked at the 220 stuff yet.

i still run magas (cheaper and tanky stats atm) and arde, rushing for peta recipe, and have 2.5 roxona pieces made, and 1 line damage enchants. other than that I’m pretty broke silver-wise. 2 alts doing runs on the side at lvl 102 atm, once the 3rd toon gets arde, 2 will help with peta rec runs. but most of my time outside of daily 9 dungeons and 3 missions are invested on lvling the corsair atm.

thoughts on subweapon of choice? karacha/venom or?

If you like DWA too much, you should consider venom.

But outside of that, Karacha all the way, you’ll be meeting maps full of medium sized monsters that makes it even better

DWA is filler for me after my skills, so i’d be running karacha?

Yes, since you’re also using magas sword, theres a little synergy betweeen them where karacha also gives you a small crit rate boost to proc that crit attack bonus on magas

Kay so looking at cata again. I still hate how it looks. is 2:1 str/dex and crit rate gems enough crit rate to run magas at least evenly vs cata? yes i know the plate bonus may be too much for magas to overcome, but at this point saving money to spend elsewhere like attributes is worthwhile. so I guess I’m asking, would that stat investment make the difference between the two swords negligible?

For plates and only plates, Cata wins really, you could even use your karacha to mitigate slash vs plate penalty because you’re using karacha to attack.

Magas is an all rounder though
