Cleric-Priest3-Chaplain-Whatnow?

wow, thanks for getting me thinking… And for all the suggestions. Yes I’d like to go down the support path, however am not planning on using Heal tiles to do so. :stuck_out_tongue: hahaha I don’t know why i’m stubborn about this…

I’ve made an Edit up there hope you guys can read it. I’ve got a person in the party who’s already using tiles to heal. and he’s upping his INT. So I’m thinking that would be enough… + my massheals.

Now I don’t know how to link your comments down to my comment but will do the good ol’ fashion COPY PASTE and reply one by one.

You… Are misunderstanding Pardoner.

Simony only has a list of scrollable skills. Priest and chaplain skills, ALL OF IT are non-scrollable. Spell shop works with Priest skills (blessing, sacrament and aspersion) thats it. Do check out the forums for a very detailed guide on pardoners and its current state.

You seem to be mixed up what current classes in ToS does with other games @.@ no cleric circle has stun. We can go up and personal in pvp… And get cc-ed like poop. Your build now has 0 anti cc, so u pretty much become a target without much defences.

Defence in this game is a flat decrease.
Lets say 1000dmg, 500mdef results in 500remaining damage recieved.
What if the damage goes to 3000, you will recieve 2500.

The best way, for me, to support my team is not only to top their health up but also to mitigate damage completely. Currently i use safety zone so that the tank can survive a large pull with ease. This means regardless of ur def or hp, u will not recieve any damage from hits.

Other mitigation spells include Ausrine statue from dievdirbys C3 or Druid’s strea trofh C2.

Judging from your friend’s composition, looks like you will be main healer? I hope you can juggle dpsing, keeping urself alive(most important), constantly buffing, keeping your team alive. With 5 heal tiles, revive and mass heal :stuck_out_tongue:

And yea, you cannot got Pardoner C3. Thats circle 8. Not out yet.

Thanks for that calculations, Pardoner is out of the question now… It won’t be good unless Increased Magic Defense reworks its scaling level.

What does this mean for me ? Oracle 2 vs Druid 2 vs Plague Doctor vs Kabbalist.

Kabbalist seems like too INT based for my SPR build. So can kick that out of the question already it seems like. Well unless their are some hidden nice combos that can do well with other classes.

Krisstina
AA itself not that good indeed, but how about [Five Hammer]+Carve Attack<3 Easily burst down group of mobs~

Not planning on going dievderby, forgot that I had one in my group already.

Raven
Not true. You can scroll monstrance.

Is this true? No blessing/Sacrament/Aspersion buffs up for sale with a Pardoner?

What really? What are you doing when your stuff is on CD? Standing around? This isn’t one of those mmos that has you occupied by spamming heal only.

Krisstina did mention DPS ranged mob sniping his/her party from outside.

forgotten_dreams

There’s the mace passive from the Cleric Attribute, altho it’s a low chance.

Got this one at 6-8% it does its job! hahaha

Pappus
I have pardoner 2 and went spirit myself and personally I value the mdef, but it comes with major drawbacks.

It cannot negate damage of a spell to 0, it stays at 1 minimum that means under magic fire your barrier will break swiftly.

However I strongly suggest that all chaplains should use 1 rank for oracle. Change is too strong a skill for all kind of mat farming purposes to pass it up for the alternatives. Rank 6 can’t really give anything amazing by itself to the chaplain.

You have to decide if you wanna go a bit more damage or support. Support you could do 2x druid for invincibility, classic rank 6 whatever rank 7 PD.

I have no confirmation, but maybe the cleric stun is spreadable via plague doctor pandemic.

The stun is definitely increasable by discerning evil so if everything goes perfect you proc a stun, prolong and spread and suddenly you have a 15s stun AoE which of course is also a form of defense.

Need more info on Plague Doctor and what it can do with my teams Synergy. That and “Change is too strong a skill for all kinds of mat farming purposes” what do you mean by this? Please give me more detail. Oracle seems like a pretty good option.

Raven
What are you doing here? Bragging? Not reading comments properly, maybe you need to get checked up with an eye doctor. Being in front of the screen for too long decreases eyesight, and BTW carrots work too! Eat your veggies

About forgotten_dreams and pappus last comment…
Isn’t chaplains Deploy Capella all about casting all priest buffs, in a single buff?

Oh, if thats the case than that opens up more roles you can take then xD

Sinces hes got cleric C2 and diev statue buffs covered, you could possibly take druid C2 after chaplain.
Carnivory is a great single target dps spell, not much for aoe thou due to its hit limit like the kirvis’s zaibas (10 hits on a single target, 5 hits for 2 targets, 2 hits for 5 targets… Not that great with more monsters)

PD - healing factor is a great boss due to its insane regen speed. Incinerate works well with diev’s statue providing status conditions on enemies and works with other classes as well giving u a pretty much high uptime for aoe dps (no hit limit as well!)(adds duration of incinerate per condition on monsters). Bloodletting is also a great status condition removal with high uptime as well.

Kabbalist - ein sof is great for x2 ur party members hp for an uptime of 35s. If you have a linker C2 u can spread this out to the entire party (or so i heard…) it can also be traited to recover MP making ur a great battery for your team’s dps. Having a huge hp pool gives u MUCH stronger mass heal and heal as it has hp scaling.
Other skills… Not that sure, prolly u needa check around the forums for more info :x

Oracle - decent C1, i like the costume. Adds more support than DPS imo.

Other forum users have provided great insight on their roles in this thread. I too learnt much, you’re lucky to get so much support xD

Finally each of us have our own playstyles, and the conditions which we play in. As long as we do our roles well, and others do their part (and not trying to commit suicide while expecting us to keep them alive) I think its all cool.

?? I didn’t know saying basically “stop standing around in dungeons” is the equivalent to bragging. Like wut lol. But the reason why I was asking people if they are lagging was because it’s possible that they are. If it takes more than 1 second to cast your buffs you might have ping issues. When the servers had really heavy traffic it caused a lot of lag to cleric classes that used items, so it might be a connection issue and if that’s the case it might be better to play another cleric class that doesn’t consume items so you can do all that you can or at least be aware you’re operating slower than others.

Capellas cost 1k per use (item consumed). They are also hit by aoe attacks and can be destroyed. Lastly you place them in the ground in an area, and you won’t be in that area for 65 seconds (unless its a boss).

Unfortunately it also overwrites your current buffs, which is especially a problem if your Capella is low level (and its buffs only last seconds).

Outside of boss fights Capellas see little use because of these reasons.

hahaha i’m new and it just seemed like you were kind of bragging about either your internet connection or the mighty hardware you use or the playstyle you inherit. People lagging out is quite a common issue, (I’m playing SEA Server which until 2-3 days ago, the server itself was in Wellington Florida US whos not having ping issues if players are from the south east asian regions) and honestly I try my best autoattacking everything, from ranged mobs, bosses, etc. But if such an occurence occurs, which it does occasionally I do stay back and just spam all my buffs and heals. You are correct, Game is not about staying back as a priest in this case, but don’t tell me you never have those days when you are doing quests much higher level above you, equipment on red and literally just as a priest doing your heals buffs debuffs as that is all you can provide or you’ll be wiped in 1-2 hits.

Thanks for that insight though, I did notice buffs required more casting time to lets say Protective zone or Mass heal, but do you think its possible that all buffs require a similar cast time? may it be with item consuming or not (E.g. Monstrance compared with Blessing (holy powder) or Stone skin with Sacrament (gyslotis)

As requested I shall tell you about oracle change.

The attribute is winning. Per level you have a 0.05% chance that the changed mob is a lucky mob. It maxes at 50 and that means 2.5% per application - this is already a bummer but it becomes better.

The skill itself is overcharge so you can do it back to back for 5% chance every 1 minute and 10 seconds.

The next big thing is that when you change a mob once it won’t change its lootable.

You cast it on e.g. a Hogma Warrior because you want to farm Gigantic Shinbone (currently 200k+ on femidian) so it becomes whatever monster really (can even be a training dummy :D) but it drops like a Hogma Warrior.

But because you get whatever lootable the mob was before it means if you would cast change on the same mob again it would then be different.

Additionally the results are quite funny I mean I often spawn 100k HP mobs in lvl 50 zones. The standard cleric bot fights like 10 minutes against that if he survives. Now if you mix in several level of change you could actually harass people…

I’m currently taking a break after finally hitting 175 on my Int Chaplain to plan out the rest of my build. So far I’m considering:

  1. (DPS1) Krivis > PD: More DPS from Zaibas, more debuffs for Incineration through Aukurus and Zalciai.
  2. (DPS2) Druid C2: More damage from Carnivory, and extra invincibility from Sterea. You can get around 40s of invincibility by properly chaining Sterea > Safety Zone > Sterea.
  3. (Support) Oracle > Kabbalist
  4. (Support) Cleric 2 > PD

Here’s a video (with terrible music) of an Int-based Chaplain that went Druid C2. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NqTAcDuWmg

Hey yeah, DRUID C2 really shines with Int build Diverdibies though… Owl and Carnivory probably can really easily 1v1 bosses. Plus the Plant-type chortasma really plays good with Carve attack. And outputs a woodpiece.

Krivis > PD Someone told me this is a good way to be going as a chaplain. But I feel like not going Zaibas from earlier in the game is quite a waste going to Krivis. Daino, Zalciai and Aukuras will be the extra buffs I can give out. Will it be that special? I’ve got a cleric 2 in my team who’s putting divine might on us. Will Daino increase our buff placement? Tell me more about this please DAINO and its uses…

And really thinking of going Oracle but in R7 what class will go well with the Oracle C1 Skill set?

Primary buffs are: Aspersion, Sacrement, and Blessing… they can last for over an hour… thing is when you invest in different buffs and cast it on your party, those 5 min buffs will overwrite their primary 2 hour buffs, and they will be fully debuffed by the time they reach the boss

It’s the item consuming ones. I notice it since I’m from EU and have a pretty big ping to being with and if I’m downloading something while playing, the item skills cause me way more issue than the ones that don’t.

I am pretty sure Aspersion scales with spirit, and your apsersion damage is what aspergillium’s damage is based on, which is supposed to be baseatk+spirit+magic attack. But the better question is do parties invite a cleric to them for dps?

Actually blessing does not last an hour from a pardoner, it will last 150 hits or an hour whichever is first, usually its the 150 hits that ends it. The other 2 though last the full duration they say. Though I find aspersion useless in general, since defense is pointless in ToS, its all about that evasion and block and max hp. I have a lil cleric I was working on but I an unsure what to do with it. Its currenty cleric->priest1 atm, I planned to go priest3, then maybe grab cleric 2 at rank 5 or something. I was also thinking of going cleric->priest->cleric2->priest3->??? for soloing I don’t mind buying sacrament from a pardoner. Hell I do that on all chars. Would have priest 2 by lv 79-80 ish. Then again I could go a supporty chaplain too if I wanted to and get cleric 2 for my rank 6.

Aspersion is affected by SPR and INT.

Yes you are right, healers are invited for their primary role; to heal. But there are situations where the healer can contribute to dealing damage especially at bosses (when you done what you can and ur heals are on cd), dealing damage is better than standing around @.@

Certain builds can both heal, buff, and deal decent damage.

I think the only usefulness of aspersion is to provide damage for aspergillum…if one not planing for Chaplain then this skill is not required.
In fact, the party only need 3 buffs from a priest:Blessing, Sacrament and Stone Skin~Anything other than that are optional, most of the time, not welcome(buff limit)~

You guys are both wrong. Aspersion also gives about 50% increased Physical Defense which is quite OP especially if you wear a full set of plate armor to go with it… this allows even the most squishy job classes out there to be super tanky without the need for CON, and its also one of the best Priest/Pardoner buffs

Lots of ppl still wearing lv15 set or lv40 purple tunic(Rokas) or whatever crap they grab from quest reward~Even with a high lvl crap, ur “OP 50%” will only result at no more than 200 damage reduction while mobs generally hit for 1k+ on them…

@bartkoopmanslippens Here are some considerations for you.

Cleric 2 > Kabbalist - More Heal Tiles, Divine Might, & more levels into Safety Zone. Kabbalist has access to an SP Restoration with an attribute Ein Sof, which let’s your buddies empty their SP bar. Additionally gives you a Revenged Sevenfold that reflects back the next hit 7 times over.

Cleric 2 > Plague Doctor - More Heal Tiles, Divine Might & More Safety Zone. Plague Doctor has access to Status Effect healing of all sorts. Healing Factor may give you a bit more passive healing (though I think it got nerfed recently, check some other threads). You can contribute to damage with Incinerate, which gets strong with more debuffs on the target.

Oracle 2 - Grants you Arcane Energy for more SP and Stamina. You also can scout items with the abilities. You also will have Death Sentence and Counter Spell for PvP (if you care for it). If you don’t care for Death Sentence you could always go Cleric 2 > Oracle 1 for a similar effect.

I assume you are considering Full-Support, since you have friends with Damage.

Druid2 or Druid1>PD1 is always a good choice if you’re an INT build.

This topic strict on SPR Build. But going off topic… Whats better than chaplain>druid2 INT BUILD is Dievderby going Full INT 2 Cleric and 2 DRUID. 3 Diev. Thats 1 hurting owl, Insane Defense from sterea Trof and Safety zone (divine might at lvl 11) Almost invincible, and Cheap Wood that come from all types of Monsters. Its 1. Efficient Can tp home always. 2. Fuzzing crazy strong with its AoE attack. OWL And Carnivory 3. wild defense with sterea > safetyy > Sterea 4. Carve attack + Chortasma works like a premade set up combo. 5. Which is the icing, never buy wood, Chortasma creates plant type monster. Carve attack deals more damage against plant type + Outputs a random wood piece. Anyway back to topic. SPR BUILD Chaplain. My strongest skill is Stone skin, which completely loses to the strength of Magic attacks. Help, Should I better go put some INT and play DPS and stronger heals? or believe in Stone skin and Go SPR all the way.

Yeah well, good considerations. But buff limit with Divine might and Fade. Will cause some problems buffing my team.

How about Krivis>Kabbalist. What does that sound to you? No heal tiles I know people love heal tiles, but screw that. I am a pardoner with magic def, I step on every single one of your heal tiles. And suddenly PvP becomes so much harder.
