For one reason that I came to playing ToS is that its unique art style and stunning design and some ‘‘moeness’’ (for those who don’t know yet, ‘‘moe’’ is a Japanese word usually used to define cuteness and the like). Nevertheless, for some god dammit reasons that the costumes that I (and I believe some of you also share my view, I swear) desperately want to buy and on top of that, have to buy with real money are class-depend restricted. For example, this two pieces of cloth are going to be implemented in the next patch
See? I don’t even know why there should have a class restriction in the first place? Does wearing those costumes can affect or have some sorts of special effects corresponding to those class’s exclusive skills? Or they just f**king feel the urge to add class restriction for fun and be like: ''let’s fck with our players for some fun, don’t you guys agree? ‘’ ? Not only those two costumes but also many others are class-depended
Why? IMC!! You guys are not kidding us right? Why don’t even allow us to spend the damn money for the things that we deserve to own? In my opinion, there shouldn’t any class restriction for costumes, especially those of which are ‘‘casual style’’ (not really have any specific class’s illustration and can be considered free-for-all, for example, costumes with a claymore-attached design is obviously for swordman exclusively. As for maid clothes, what is the point to make Cleric exclusively? If IMC makes it for all class, I’m sure many will happily buy it)
Anyone’s with me? I would like to hear your comments…

realized there’s a topic about this ‘’ restriction feature’’ right after posting… no, I’m not gonna make a new char just because of this ridiculous thing… feel relieved seeing I’m not alone in this matter.
Class restriction with costumes should be removed for the sake of players AND profits. It’s one of the few cases where the interests of players and the interests of MONEY for IMC align yet IMC couldn’t even get THAT right
uhm, they are short-handed so we need to sympathize right :
guess in the not-so-far future they will remove that thorn from our eyes :v just you wait and see :V I assured
This isn’t extra work, this is literally a toggle switch. There are no animation differences from costume to costume, they’re the same rigging models, and the functionality already exists for them to have costumes that are multi-class.
This is a direct decision on their part.
I honestly think only lore-costumes should be class specific. Novelty costumes should not be, like maid, chicken, bunny, etc.
can’t agree with you more. Pls take a cookie as a token of gratitude
Wrong.
Some outfits offer special effects depending on the class and skill.
Ex: Wiz 3 TP outfit makes rainbow magic missile effect and offers different poses.
But yes, I do agree that they should stop with the class-locked costumes. However, I suppose from their POV, it makes each main branch have a “unique” look.
Costumes, in my opinion, should only remain as make-up goods, and never are supposed to have any character’s power-related effects, otherwise this game will turn into P2W kind which I defy the most. No matter how good are you, it accounts to nothing when it comes to P2W because not anyone can afford to pay to play, so I don’t want to see ToS as that kind of MMO
Please read. Lore costumes are excluded from the topic here.
Definitely agree on this. The bunny and maid outfits, as well as the pilgrim outfits are all ones I’d love to have;but not on certain characters only. There’s really no sensible reason to restrict common costume types like this.
Its a pvp thing. So you can identify the classes. So what they would need to do is the same as the rest of the packs and make different versions of each of the costumes for each class.
I read your post.
I didn’t know that specific class-based costumes with special effects were considered to be (as you would personally label) “lore” costumes. Your definition was vague. But nonetheless, yes, I agree with your post.
doesn’t the chicken costume kind of defeat this arguement
O hey i forgot about that, i do my best to pretend that costume never happened. I guess it doesn’t make sense then.
Oh man I would like to have the COCKatrice (henceforward abbreviated as COCK) costume’s free-class availability replaced with upcoming Servant costume. I dont find the COCK costume attracting at all lol
Maybe there is a bit of lore involve?
Since cleric class is a healer based class, they are there to serve other people, that’s why the maid and butler.
And mage for bunny outfit, since we jump around a lot while we AA.
Joke aside, I really do hope costume have no class restriction, I want the maid on my wiz
You make it sound like Wierd Mage though :)) we Archer also jump A LOT to avoid physical attacks from mobs
how about this. Me Archer be like: How can I help you guys, meow
I could either buff Swift Step for you and also I have many AOE skills which prove effective in dungeon so everyone let me wear maid costume please
(I do have cat ears and maid headband for my char to begin with)
Yeah. Have to admit that female Wizard is the cutest class in ToS I think
maid outfit would do a good job with Wiz female character, the rest is up to your wallet though
