does anyone know where in the damage formula the new sapper3 attributes apply
why Str is more important than Dex for sapper 3 ?
Cant sapper 3 skills do the critical dmg ?
If it can, then why not full dex ?
I’m planning on making a sapper c3 > cannoneer, which skills should i focus on? Was thinking max broom trap and spike shooter. 1 point in punji and conceal. But im not sure on claymore, stockades, detonate and collar bomb.
I’m assuming its because almost all of the sapper skills that make the class worth it now (broom trap, namely) scale with atk total, and have no base damage anymore.
The recent rework took base damage away from most of the sapper skills, and added a scaling percent of your character attack damage. When your skill did 400 damage on its own regardless of your attack, doubling that base damage is better than having 150~ more damage per sweep, even if it wasnt 100% crit chance.
NOW, since your skills scale off your total attack and have no base damage, if your full str you’ll deal more damage since its ~250% of your total attack per sweep. Granted, crits are still good, but less so with skills that dont have base damage.
Collar Bomb is pretty much close range multishot with better scaling
Spike Shooter even when was bugged was kinda meh (it was possible to deal few milions of dmg to flying bosses) as its finicky to place
Punji stake infinite dmg stack was fixed (was fun to wipe whole screens with it) but still does decent AoE cc and DMG (but set up time should be greatly shortened)
Claymore is still great with double claymores
Broom Trap is better than it was and if you have Archer 2 than kneeling after placing it will make it pretty much auto crit everything in range.
Stockades have good dmg now and are good in use with detonate circles but again, sapper is not very user friendly class to play. Still better than hunter though not having to deal with AI ;3
