I find campfires slow in returning your health and sp to full so that you can return to grinding quickly. I’d like them to buff it a little bit. Buff either the regeneration or the duration. Just an opinion.
Does it restore HP and SP by percentage?

I was finding it recovered my full HP recovery rate, but only half my SP recovery rate.
I don’t really get it, but that seemed awkward.
Its supposed to be slow, thats kind of the point.
Your normal recovery rate is slow as hell, but totally free!
Your bonfire recovery rate is faster than normal, but it has a small fee.
Your potion recovery rate is very fast, but it has a huge fee.
See the pattern? The less the recovery costs the slower it is.
I totally agree. I always wait for health way longer that sp.
Its a campfire for a reason. Your suppose to chill there for a while, its not suppose to be fast.
If the regeneration was so slow the campfire didn’t regen you full HP and SP during it’s active time, I’d agree. But it’s just fine as it is - the campfire even burns long enough to get your SP recovered, kill some mobs and recover your SP a second (sometimes even a third) time.
I’d like different kinds of wood to heal hp or sp in different rates.
Maybe burning incense or talismans that give various effects (one of them being additional sp regen) could be a thing?
Better get to roasting marshmallows and make s’mores then lol jk I agree with you it’s really snow but I feel like high levels won’t have to use camp fires anymore
I think that the bonfire is an excellent mechanic as is, and should be as slow as it is, but of course better than natural to encourage use. This is to encourage the social aspect of the game, and get people who are farming in groups to sit down together and talk. This increased hp/sp regen is just an incentive to do so, and the time that it takes for this to happen needs to be long enough so that conversations can happen.
Even in solo play, if you sit down at your bonfire, another player with missing hp/sp is encouraged to sit down and use your bonfire, possibly sparking a conversation. This is good design, and I really like how it’s implemented. If the bonfire was simply a way to sit down for 5-10 seconds and quickly get hp/sp to max ( for example, like food/drink would do in WoW ), it would not achieve this result.
I would love for their yo be protective abilities for use with Bonfire.
Something like Rogues had in RO, where while a specific class is grouped together monsters will ignore the area.
I think you suffered the bonfire bug. You need to make sure you got the bonfire buff when you sit down. Sometimes it bugs out and you have to move around the area to get it.

C.A.M.P.F.I.R.E.S.O.N.G. SONG!!! I’m amazed that no one did this yet. Anyways, the campfire is an amazing way for people to regen their HP and MP for a very cheap cost compared to buying Potions. Sure potions increase your regen by a TON but it seems using a potion is a situational thing like maybe for Bossing or PvP (maybe not PvP since you’ll most likely kill your opponent or die before your SP runs out… or they outright ban potions in PvP.
IIRC, Campfire wood cost 30 silver each (I hope it doesn’t change later on) and HP costs like 90-180 and SP costs 120-480 silver? That is a massive decrease in price for full HP AND SP since these lower level potions don’t usually bring you to max HP or SP.
Hey man, campfires are a 50 silver and a medium sized hp potion cost 300. You get what you payed for. I think the regen is fine as it is.
I wish fireball worked as a bonfire. I always put them on top of sitting people to keep them cozy.
