I admit I only played the trail version of WoW and that’s it so I only know they have p2p, didn’t know they had p2w…that’s sad…really.
Another question for p2p is that should people get costumes for free? In RO online didn’t they have quests to get these special costume? I think doing quests for these costume would be more fun as long as it doesn’t have anything to do with stats and ability.
I think it’s not really a good business decision to be P2P in this current MMO eco-system anyhow. There’s hordes of graphs and charts and statistics that show that F2P is far and away exponentially more potent for pulling in huge cash. P2P is a dying breed, and it only really works (especially if it’s an entry barrier to even play, as opposed to a VIP or premium thing) if you have a guaranteed large subscriber base (thus guaranteeing you all that sub money).
As an entry barrier, a sub fee is very often one of the biggest turn offs to some players.
