Bots and RMT (Renamed)

Dang. As someone who had to and was able to get a scholarship back in my student days, that’s one of the worst things RMT has done.

There will be NO END to the bots and RMT. Its a tragic truth everyone should accept. Its the un-curable disease of ALL MMORPG’s

  1. Those bots belong to a company. A company composed of hackers with one purpose. Earn money by selling in game currencies. I’ve even heard that people used prisoners to farm for World of Warcraft gold and sell it.

  2. RMT is common. Ragnarok Online had it way back in 2004. There’s no end to it. They can trace it but they cant prove it. Everyone can just lie about it saying that “he was a close friend of mine”. They ain’t gonna fly all the way to your country just to prove it lol.

Me I’m starting to get tired of this game and starting to lose hope. Will quit soon and probably stick to offline games.

Honestly I don’t see the problem with RMT so long as the person selling did not use bots. What’s wrong with people getting real money for their hard earned items or silver. I am against botting but not RMT. Bots are the ones destroying the economy through insane influx of currency. If you think about it, RMT trades between legit players (non bots) and the paying players who are purchasing because they either don’t have as much time to play or just because they can, can be compared to a player purchasing TP. Hate on the bots, not RMT.

@Luven keep the thread update with those pictures and let imc know, your helping our community.

RMT can be stopped, and any end to RMT is a big dent to botting.

In fact, botting can super easily be crippled just by making singleplayer play in MMOs majorly difficult or even impossible.

This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.

That would be ANOTHER ‘restriction’ that people would complain much about.

That reminds me of a classical screenfetch from the iCBT2 forums.

I get a good laugh every time I see this.

I don’t think it’s possible to eliminate RMT, but it is certainly possible to discourage it to the point where it has very small impact on your game.

I remember a SPAM email strategy where a malicious person gets access to your email account. Rather than sending spam as you to all of your contacts, they pick a random person from your contact list and spoof your friend’s email address into the From field of an email to all of your contacts. Now it looks as though your friend is infected/hacked and the bad guys still have your account without you becoming suspicious. They’re making an assumption that many of the people on your contact list may know each other and can play on that trust to get your contacts to click a malicious link.

Now let’s extend that to a strategy for IMC to ban gold buyers. IMC learns who the gold sellers are, the accounts that they use to actually hand off RMT items. Don’t ban these accounts, instead look at banning the people that they trade with. The gold seller is none the wiser that IMC knows they’re bad people, so they continue to operate using the same character for several more RMT sales and IMC catches more buyers.

It’s all sword art online’s fault :triumph:

Kirito and Asuna wanna be =p

I didn’t watch the anime at all, not interested.

I just know that Kirito was a solo player and now everyone wants to be just like him, just because he got laid.

This guy probably is my idol… … kirito is kinda meh

I remember a japanese or korean variation of some nexon game publicly shaming accounts and giving people in the friendslist warnings that the said person was comitting RMT.

All in all, I found that to be an insanely successful tactic.

Man, all those pinoys selling their stuffs in all caps as if they found the hardcore sh!t mah ngg !!!

The major problem here are the BOTS and not the RMTs. Remember, there are two types of gamers:

  1. gamers who has all the time in the world and can play all day without or little outside responsibilities (legit player?),
  2. gamers who has work and has real-world responsibilities.

We all know that ToS is a grinding game.

RMTs are part of every MMORPG, im not saying that RMTs are good, i am just saying that RMTs are not mostly bad. RMTs are there for gamer#2 to catch up and enjoy the game who dont have time to grind and do runs.

If you really want to remove RMTs might as well remove the trade feature of the game. Selling silver is harder now because of delayed market posts and can report sellers.

PS. Why do you care if they want to waste their money in a game where they eventually quit.

Double PS. I saw your screenshot, obviously you are the gamer#1 who has all the time in the world, who watch animes all day.You are just butthurt because you cannot buy items in real money and has really bad luck in hunting for items and dungeon runs. Or just LAZY to hunt for items and do runs, go watch some anime.

I know this is only a SEA server problem and it doesnt affect me but, I saw the text “prefer meet ups” — how are you or the GMs gonna stop them if they meet up somewhere?

you are asking me why am i not fond of it? wtf. so you like to limit the gameplay experience of those legit players?

since you dont know how the rmters can affect the gameplay of e regular legit player, then you are the half assed person here. boost fame? lol.

or i am someone who know how to have Time Management. its a skill really. clap clap clap.

you cant separate RMT and bots. if a company manages to stop RMT, then bots would cease to exist.

you obviously have engaged in RMT for sure.

if imc happens to really remove RMT, then HELLO no more 2 day wait for silver! Hello instant post of item on market upon listing an item. HELLO better grinding spots for legit player and not Bots. HELLO easier quest because somehow some bots ruin this for other players. HELLO better server stability because no RMT = no Bots online.

now @alba.rol.19, now i am sure you do not like pay to win games yah? well RMT kind of makes that pay to win. get what im saying?
