Best class for soloing

Soloing with Wizard:

I played several mages and to be honest once you choose pyro2 the rest don’t even matter, you can solo every single map in game until lvl 200 with just that. Linker is a good option if you are looking for support your party, but if you are soloing it is useless since you don’t really need it, don’t take me wrong, linker is a good class, and yes I know people is going to say that you can link mobs and make more damage and all that, it is true that you will do more damage over 6 mobs (asumming you max it) and those mobs will die faster, but once you get pyro2 everything die faster and link fire balls to mobs is not the best idea if you are in party or there is any other player around who can hit it. Summoner and Necromancer are also viable options for soloing since your summons/ads will do most of work, those are the only wizard class that truly depends of linker (I will take linker 2, even linker 3 if possible and you have the guts, if I intend to play as summoner or necro). Don’t bother to take alchemist unless you want to make money, neither take chronomancer or thaumatuge if you are soloing, they shine in group, never alone. Elementalist do a nice job soloing if you have pyro2 (fire splash) or cryo2 (icy slow). Cryomancer and psyco are a bit harder to solo since they are more pvp classes, still they can do it, once you reach cryo3 it is way to easy, psyco in the other hand is ok but it is never good. Don’t ever take wizard2/3 if you are soloing, it works just if you are going for elementalist 3 to use fast cast and sure spell in pvp, no other reason than that. Warlock and Fatherfood look nice options for last circle, while Warlock will give you bust power, Fatherfood will give you sustain (wich is nice since mages are squishy), I don’t have an opinion about Rune Caster yet.

Soloing as Cleric:

Cleric was my fist option in all CBTs but I was more focused in support than damage dealer, any way, some healers than can solo lvling with no problem are: Bokor, Krivis, Sadhu, Monk and Druid since they are more DPS than support (didn’t play any of them by myself since as I told, I mostly play the support tree). Priest after circle 2 is extremly easy to lvl up (once you get sacrament just smash everything with your mace, no even need to add str), Full Cleric is a bit hard to lvl up, if you want circle 3 try to add something in between or be ready to spent a long time on each lvl. Don’t botther to choose Diervby, Paladin, Pardoner or Oracle, those classes shine with party, you can lvl up with them without problem but there is no a good reason to choose them for a solo player. No comments about Plague Doctor, Kabalist or Chaplain since I didn’t play them.

I hope this help you in some way. Even when I understand why you want a nice character for solo play, I advice you to get a nice party, this game works way better when you have a nice party.

P.S.: sorry about any grammatical error, english is not my native.

If choosing Pyro c2 and Linker c1, which path would you go next? I find myself wanting more damage skills, apart from fire (killing fire bosses with pyro is a bit of a pain) but not sure if Elementalist is good. Linker is good for partying and dg instances since Fireball is a bit useless there if there is a swordie in party.

Cleric -> Krivis -> Cleric -> Sadhu’s ftw; high dmg, high survivability and best of all, ridiculously economic

I dunno if this what you meant but I think that if you’re looking for reliable non-ground-oriented dps to boost your build perhaps you might wanna consider sorc, the synergy is fantastic :slightly_smiling:

I base this on my personal exp altho I personally went C1 pyro -> C2 Linker -> Sorc…
I got to breezily wipe off an entire section of Demon Prison in under 1minute

As for ele, i think you might wanna drop it unless you’re meaning to go at least c2 and are completely amenable with long cast time plus animation

Tips for soloing with Swordsman :
As long as you don’t pick Sword c2-c3 or Peltasta c2-c3, you are good to go.

Hmm, rodelero good for solo? I hope more buff on swordman class this week.

I had the idea of using the Monk’s defensive channels with OOB back when OOB was high dmg. Found out monk channeled skills stopped OOB from attacking. Was sad. There were some changes to channels and OOB but I never read anything specific to Sadhu/Monks.

Possession on the other hand… Is amazing and I’m sad I missed out on the skill doing my silly SadhuC1/Monk. And now with OOB nerfed it completely overshadows OOB. It’s uptime is 50% so you can be channeling after you unload your other spells and keep yourself pretty occupied. I’m kind of worried that I’ll have too many skills later to juggle if I’m able to channel it full duration in most situations post 280. So I am thinking of dropping Zaibus and just getting the better safety wall and heal.

So, you can use any skill you want and it doesn’t interrupt your Spirit Attack unless it’s a channeled skill, interesting.
I wouldn’t say it overshadows OOB, I’m sure this was done so OOB becomes more like I though it was suposed to be, which seems to align with what IMC thinks it’s suposed to be, making it a way to keep your DPS while staying at a safe dsitance, not to mention allowing INT builds to use Spirit Attack which are based off INT instead of Basic Attacks which are based off STR.

Really it hiting three times makes up for the slower attack speed, it was also probably nerfed because with a Chronomancer you basically become Star Platinum, and as I said it doesn’t seem to be the intended usage of OOB so making it harder to achieve stays on the line of thinking.

I’m not actually sure if Chronomancer skills function with OOB tbh. Back when we were playing iCBT Chrono was bugged. So I never got to try it with atk spd buffs.

Well, now they work fine.
It’s as simple as getting a Chronomancer and a Sadhu togueter now to check.

damage scale of oob only from int and ground buff (zalcai, cure, monstrance) and the attack speed cannot be more fast
so after aspd oob’s nerf back on iCBT2 (or kOBT? dont remember perfectly), now sadhu just work fine…anymore nerf will be hurting sadhu lover :joy:
i just wish possession have faster cast animated…coz its cancelable and having it slow is bit painful

KTest actually I think.
Ah well, sad that it can be faster but it works as intended anyways so no problems there, it also DOES have an atribute to boost it attack by % up to 100 like other skills. This is probably the reson of the nerf becasue that’s really strong.

From what i know, all buff only affect main body, not the spirit. So, attack speed buff from chrono useless for sadhu.

what? really? oob have enhance attack attribute now? i miss that one, coz at tos base simulator not showing that attribute, only evasion…now every thing more clear that aspd of oob have to be nerf :joy:

It’s on the Sadhu class page (note that unimplemented atributes are in the skill page but not in the main class page of tosbase), well it could be unimplemented for all I know, but if anything I guess it’s calisifed as a Class Atribute so it doesn’t show up in the simulator much like every other Class Atribute.

yes it’s implemented already
