Are tanks usefull?

Sorry for my ignorance but how usefull are tanks exactly?

I heard they speed up leveling 130+ due to taunt for mobbing/aoe but is that it ?

Are tanks needed if PvP?
Are tanks needed for Bossing?
Are tanks needed for PvE beside the (little perk to have but not so much)?

I was going Swordman c3 - Highlande c1 - corsair c1 - doppel c2 as a DPS/PvP build.

But now im thinking for rerolling as i feel this build will be lackluster in PvE as opposed to the barb dps builds.

they are useful but not necessary

you already cant get taunt for mobbing/aoe at rank2, lvl 15

no, opponents would kill dps classes 1st before killing tank classes

Are tanks needed for Bossing?

no, quests boss are easy if you know that you are doing. field bosses get killed with a lot of people around, no need for tanking

you get more exp in dungeons if you have all 4 base class in your party
mobbing helps in grinding levels and hunting craft materials

swordman c2 and c3 is so bad compared to other classes you can get at that rank
