Yes, that is why it depends on how you built your archer and what is doing the majority of your damage in different situations. This relates to using weapons well below your level. Ideally we’d all get the highest damage weapon we can and max it anyways.
I feel the pain of everyone here, being an archer is being in pain for eternity.
The penalty of our weapons unless you over-up it, the lame attack speed not mention lack of aoe at first, high sp consumption and long down time of skills.
The only reason for me playing archer this long is the hope that the class will shine at later levels.
Rogue is so damn sexy
Hi @jyc81, thank you for the feedback. Really insightful. I have several questions:
- On Fulldraw effect, when enemy is not threaded, is the duration of the snare still the same as in the skew duration?
- What do you mean by “second shot” from Stone Shot? Does it mean that each hit by Stone Shot have different effect?
- How do you rate about stun chance from Stone Shot? Is it high?
- Do deploy pasives block magic normal attack?
- Yes the duration of the snare on Full Draw is the same as if it is skewed.
- Stone Shot bounces once similar to Oblique Shot, but it will always hit if there is a target nearby.
- Mm, I’d say between 40 and 60%. It is pretty high for a stun that you can spam.
- Pavise does block magic missile attacks but not ranged ground aoe attacks (or some of the larger missile spells bosses shoot). It does block melee aoe attacks though (at least the few we tested), I pvp’d my swordy friends and stood between pavises for the whole duration without taking damage.
Uhh?
You havent spent much time at tennet chapel then.
Silver is really easy to comeby.
At tennet you can level from 35 to 60 in 2~3 hours maybe 4 if your slow. Which helps you later get past “grind walls”.
And you earn alot from the drops.
I started as pyro-linke rthere. Over 1k egnomes in 3 hours or so. Till i noticed… they dont giv eme even any exp anymore. Day 1 xD.
And heck, 20k+?
Dont use an level 40 weapon then.
Weapons with require dlevel 1 are really cheap to get to +10.
Level 15 increases drastically. Level 75 are costly as hell.
If your linker, you dont rellay on that as much. You dont get an malus on your magic… for size atleast.
And still i got my bow to +8, which is an level 40 bow. Easily when i was level 60 as archer.
And i spent … about a few hundreth tousands silve ron attributes till i was level 100.
Level 50 oblique and 50 multishot … ain’t cheap brother.
Easy way to get money?
-farm things that are needed.
-farm things that are sellable to npc.
-do the afk farm of bokor and co …which will not work in open…
Aw… q.q dammm…
10% tax in market~ duuhhh
so to level your archer as a first character: grind 5 times more than others for the money you need to keep leveling at a good pace instead of leveling at a good pace and making money through higher drops…
does not sound very appealing. man am i glad i will have someone to level with to get me through the ■■■■ parts of the archer game
Ehh?
You need to grind with EVERY class.
I grinded always at egnomes or earth apparations.
It makes the game easyer, if you hunt certain fast spwans. Then wquest and keep the cards for moments where you cant grind so good. You will be fletcher in a week max … what is there to complain.
actually the only time i needed to grind was maybe 1 level to 50 on multiple chars to get into the 50 dungeon before leaving the area, and i never had to spend as much money to be effective with the others as with the archer
(hello damage reduction)
how are you sitting there and say “it’s fine” when there is clearly a discrepancy between the early 12x levels between classes? sure you can make it work, but there is a difference between being able to make it work and a class just working.
just remove the ■■■■■■■ damage reduction from missile attacks and all is well.
In what game is there not a discrepancy at low lvls? most games don’t give a ■■■■ how degenerate early game is as long as the late game is as balanced as they can make it.
this isn’t about the inability to balance it at low levels ( remember they claimed they wanted a system where earlier ranks become inconsequential, so they could have balanced it easily) they just decided for some reason that archers have to spend massive amounts of money in the early game to do the same damage as others.
you mean to do the same as a swordsman. Archer can keep up with mage and cleric just fine (maybe not priest).
my priest is doing the same damage my archer does on mobs, only it hits 5 guys instead of one is what i am getting at. same amount of money spent on gear and upgrades ( +10) if i don’t have the funds my archer will do way less.
his burst with barrage is useful though, but ranger 3 isn’t worth it imo
And this is my point your comparing archer to priest which is one of the strongest classes in the early game, and some players even have threads asking for nerfs on it.
Krivis is one of the strongest classes early game. Priest is still Autoattack, Cure and Heal until at they stop being priests.
you mean auto attack with blessing and/or sacrament which is a big deal and is what makes them so good at lvling.
and unlike krivis they are not useless for 30 sec waiting for things to come off cd
I’ma drop the Priest discussion, since it’s off topic.
The ease-of-leveling tiers probably go something like Swordman>Cleric>Wizard>Archer. It doesn’t really matter who we compare archer to, archer falls short.
Swordman and Cleric both have AoE auto attacks that don’t suffer from a -50% damage to bosses, mage has a single target AA that also doesn’t have a -50% on bosses, and a bunch of AoE skills. Archer has a single target AA, and a bunch of non-AoE skills, and deals half damage to bosses.
So archer kills groups slow and kills bosses slow early on (all of iCBT so far). That sucks.
I wouldnt say this. I would go
Swordsman >Cleric> archer/wizard in the same bracket
with a few exceptions like doing cleric c2 is awful and mage c2 would be way worse then archer. Also with archer iv had no trouble blowing through bosses with multi shot but i do run out of sp alot while grinding since you need to focus on skills with the single target auto.
I’d put Wizard over Archer purely for Pyromancer. At level 5 Flame Ground kills bosses in two casts, and wrecks any normal monsters that wanders into it.
