I did the same. Worked for me
Intriguing, I guess I’ll give yours a try next beta
To everyone else who replied, thank you for the great responses, I shall try the other combinations you suggested too maybe when I decide to build something dedicated for a paladin build or another melee of a different orientation
Oops I meant Paladin, the poster got the gist of it. Healer supports and defense increase supports.
I guess the goal is to get critical rate to 50%+ and crit dmg to some absurd multiple of normals (3x???) Through stats, armor bonuses and skill bonuses. Then pump strength. Basically, be an archer in the body of a warrior.
So you’re saying proc Dex until you get around that 50% cri dmg then you proc STR for the crit dmg?
you shouldnt do DEX highlander… i partied with this guy (forgot name) he was lv 45 and have like 10 CON all STR his dmg is crazy
if you want crit rate, learn attribute
con gives no def, and dont go circle 3 swords, just go pelt 2 rodelero 3 imo
except the attribute for them is crit damage not crit rate. str gives crit damage as well, dex gives crit RATE. i.e. chance to crit. building a crit damage character and ignoring the stat that causes crits is like building a tank and ignoring armor. by ignoring one stat you are making your main others useless. you want to get a high str/dex build to where you can crit all the time with highlander and that crit damage boost is applying to every single hit. once you hit like 100% crit SURE stop adding dex but every few levels youll need to add more to keep it at nearly 100%
I think going peltasta could actually be viable but I think I’ll take Swordsman 3 instead because in this build i’m not trying to make it go on the defensive side by undercutting offense but I’m thinking I’ll go like 3/4 offense and 1/4 defense for survivability which depends entirely on knocking down/away mobs for grinding and that’s why I plan to go Swordsman 3 > Rodelero
Oh, I wasn’t trying to misinform you. I thought of it as a rule of thumb possibly. It depends how much crit rate you want. Equipment would surely ease that burden. Everyone gave a more thorough answer after me. Sorry!
I don’t see how swordsman 3 knocks down/away mobs better than swordsman 1. Just be aware that your skills don’t scale well from circle 1-2 and even worse 2-3 and you get much less of them going that route as well. Most classes only get 1-2 additional skills for advancing by a circle whereas changing classes always nets you 4-5, the same goes for attributes
then factor in that skill level 5 doubles the power of skill level 1, but skill level 10 only has a 50% increase from 5 and skill 15 is only a 25% increase of skill 10 for all attack skills
Oh I see that I didn’t notice at all. Well my point for swordsman 3 was the fact that I was planning to do a fully saturated gungho along with a fully saturated concentrate so that I won’t have to rely on skills for dps. The knock down/away part is actually more emphasized on the rodelero which means I’ll have to rely more on my raw dps on normal attacks than pure skill usage through the 3 circles. Well if somehow, that really is a freaking bad idea of being a minimalist in order to avoid both heavy usage of HP and SP potions then I might as well go take peltasta for extra skills to use.
yeah I haven’t found a compelling reason to stay the same job except on maybe things like cleric where you wanna have max heal? also divine might in circle 2 might be the strongest buff in the entire game…
I see, welp I guess I’ll just try whatever out for the next CBT if both will commit wipe anyways haha
Archer3 > all starter classes except for Cleric
This is my plan if I’m going Squire: Tank Squire
And the Stats will be: 3Con 2Spr
I’m building it as a pure meat shield. So I need Con for my HP and Def and Spr for mana and Magic Resist.
Not all boss and mobs only apply Physical damage, so as a Meat Shield for the party, you need to be ready for those who uses Magic attacks.
This build doesn’t have Str nor dex because I’m planning it to be pure meatshield. I will let party members do the DPS while I take aggro and damages.
I know this will be hard to level at early game but hey, if you have a plan, do it, endure the trials behind it, and taste the sweet fruit of your labor.
Since I see a lot of replies about CRIT DAMAGE and CRIT RATE. I would like to ask a question:
Say for example I do a pure STR stat build for my archer then got skills which boosts CRIT RATE. Naturally, my accuracy is going to be low since I did not invest any points on DEX, but I have CRIT damage from pure STR and CRIT rate from skills. So my question is this, do CRIT attacks ever miss? Do CRIT attacks need accuracy to hit? I am asking this since in the old-school RO, CRIT type assassins did not rely on DEX to hit. Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer.
it’s fairly hard to test right now cause you can not get enough crit rate without getting dex to really be able to tell clearly.
for hopelite all you would need is endgame enemy accuracy since you get a crit profile for free.
150 crit from finestra isnt enough to crit enough to get clear results. maybe with a bunch of level 10 gems… id need a ton of money to test.
