[After PATCH] Crit rate equipment guide

There is a hidden modifier that reduces damage. The 25% bonus is there due to pierce vs leather, but so does a modifier that reduces the damage.

That explains it, tyvm!

I updated the simulation to use ^0.9 and to use the exact same number of crits, this is what I found (2x red gems against 2x yellow gems):

err… so in order to beat red gem, yellow gem need min 5500 base Patk or higher crit chance right? Maybe around 69.647% crit chance (Tiaaa’s 450 crit rate+rogue 40% crit chance)

With the same critical chance, yes, you need 5500 attack for critical attack to be superior to red gems.
What is fairly clear is that, at high base attack, a build with sufficient critical rate will outperform any non critical build, even without critical attack.
Stacking critical attack, will lower the point where critical builds outperform non critical builds.

Edit:

With 450 critical:

Running simulation for 1000000 time(s) with the following parameters:

Skill Factor: 100.000000%
Min Attack: 2000.000000
Max Attack: 2620.000000

Critical Rate: 450.000000
Critical Attack: 940.000000
Critical Resist: 166.000000
Critical Chance: 69.647700%
With 450 crit rate, these are the results:
0 crit attack average: 1543.321927 - 940.000000 Crit Attack Average: 1531.608865
0 crit attack average: 1647.068910 - 940.000000 Crit Attack Average: 1637.163672

conclusion: STR+red gem beat DEX+yellow gem at current PVE content? say yes say yes say yes
edit: hmm… even with current reachable crit rate at ktest (450 crit rate) it still favor red gem, interesting…

O_O numbers lul. That break even point tho… RI… (oopps dun wanna face the gang vs RIP statements)…

lel STR meta, gotta dodge manually then XD, that’s why I hated STR archer on the current meta. Anyways may be able to use rouge now huehuehue.

Seems juicy for SW :3

I’m still unsure. You can still go for full str+yellow gems for some critical attack if you can reach a sufficient critical rate.
I’ll add a full test specifically for that purpose (STR vs dex).

I forgot to add… when you see “minimum 2700”, it means that 2700 is added to both minimum and maximum for red gems too, so:
red gems min 2700 - max 3320 vs yellow gems 2700 - 2700, yellow gems win.

I see, this makes sense, will it be possible for you to make same table with the red gem (max-min) vs yellow gem incorporated on it?

Standard point i think is comparing 3slots 7star red/yellow gem with X crit rate.

that sufficient critical rate is still undiscovered atm. maybe if you add +50% crit chance (rogue2) to 450 crit rate, it will turn the tide. IF it still cant turn the tide of battle, i guess we need to use +60% crit chance from rogue3 to your simulation
@redisdarkisred 3slot at end game weapon can only be means orange practo weapon, which is not as standard as 2 slot weapon

@myself @c2gaming.seetoo @delcas

STR vs DEX results (no gems added), assuming same critical rate and same number of criticals landed:

> Critical chance: 10.000000% - Attack: -1.000000
> Critical chance: 20.000000% - Attack: -1.000000
> Critical chance: 30.000000% - Attack: -1.000000
> Critical chance: 40.000000% - Attack: -1.000000
> Critical chance: 50.000000% - Attack: -1.000000
> Critical chance: 60.000000% - Attack: -1.000000
> Critical chance: 70.000000% - Attack: 11500.000000
> Critical chance: 80.000000% - Attack: 11200.000000
> Critical chance: 90.000000% - Attack: 11000.000000
> Critical chance: 100.000000% - Attack: 10800.000000

How to read the table:
-1 means that the base attack required is higher than 16000, probably infinite.
Any other value, is the base attack required by a pure DEX build (so the STR one would have 825 more base attack).

Pure DEX becomes more effective at very high critical chances + very high base attack, but the values are so high that makes it unrealistic to achieve.

I just updated my file. You can both check STR vs DEX comparison (by even switching Monstrance ON/OFF) and also have a Calculator inside that should help doing all tests with gems.

Edit: To those who had already used it, there was a cell in the gem calculator referring to base damage and not final one. It’s fixed now, it will apply Red/Yellow gems correctly.

Note: Please do make File > Make a Copy to avoid multiple users interactions.

What if I start selling Zalciai 15 scrolls :sunglasses: Its -150 crit resistance flat without any need for spr or attributes

Dex doesn’t affect oob attack from what I remember

Yeah, it doesn’t… I tried after reading here it did, but nope. It does not.

Looks like Sissel bracelet will be mandatory, dam man, i don’t want Rogue because only at rank 5 you can be a rogue thats really suc… :frowning:

So where/when is crit attack added into the attack equation?
could i get a formula please

Even tho phadas are a pain to get they will suck really hard I guess.

@TheAlleyCats i would be very glad if you could run a test for me? I will try to get the most input numbers you need here, or at least i think you need.

My great concern here: I am hackapell with a total of 6 gems slots in both main weapon hands (main weapon being Silver hawk 2 gems slots and purine sword with 4 gems slots, which i managed to put it +15). Assuming 315 leather hunting grounds armor, swift step active (i get around 550 critical rate).

My general dps in a skill rotation would be better with all lvl 7 red gems or all lvl 7 green gems?

I believe, please correct me if i am wrong, that after reading this topic the great choice here is whether i can manage to upgrade/transedence the main weapons to a certain threshold where the physical attack is soo high that all green gems would provide a better DPS, otherwise all red gems provide a better dps.

How can i calculate this threshold?

I manage to do some math with the following doc sheets (i didnt find this topic before :frowning: i am not sure if the doc sheet is up to date)

In my math, i manage to have the conclusion of (using the damage of a single magic arrow as a test since it has 25 hits):

Main weapon Min/Mas damg = 1800/2500 = All red gems overall damage wins by 50k dmg

Main weapon Min/Mas damg = 3666/4300 = All red overall damage wins by 30k dmg

Main weapon Min/Mas damg = 5000/6500 = All green overall damage wins by 200k dmg

So, there is a limit of a weapon min/mas dmg where all green would win this match.

Am i assuming something wrong here?

All Brainstorming about this is very welcome. Thank you very much!!!
