2H Swordsman gap closer

according to most forumers dashing is the ‘gap closer’ which is why they also deny my plead to IMC for fencers a gap closer.

however IMC did made this for shinobi

you ignore damage and will teleport to the first enemy that ‘damaged’ you.

i was thinking about fencer yesterday, this 2 classes need a gap closer.

this i got from a Reddit post talking about it:

“I play highlander 3 - corsair 1 - doppel 2 in krTOS and… Just cant really do something in PvP, i can kill pretty fast with Cyclone, Cross+Sky and Redel/Zucken, but thats it, i dont got any gap closer, dont got cc, dont got any good defensive skills. If i dont play super smart, carefull, get lucky AND have a good team, i just get smashed by Clerics, Arches and Wiz’s.
By other side, i got a Chaplain/Plague that is super usefull for party, and can kill any sword/archer with easy.
Got a Sword3-Cata3-Dragoon, can kill anyone with my Restrain+Rush+Trot if i play smart and just get a good team.
And finally the best one by far is my Cryo+Sorc+Warlock. Can kill 1v3 almost anyone that dont got Oracle or Plague in their build. Plus got 30k HP and do some crazy dmg even full con, since blue gems give magic def. (I block alot to since i got 370 block from shield+CON) Archers and Swordsman Cry…”

I think its his build choice cuz highlander has one of the best defensive skills (crossgruard) and some nice knock back/up skills… but yeah, its true, still no we to get closer besides running and dodging.

It would be nice to have a tumble skill or a defensive dive roll to close some distance in combat.

I think it’s less his build choice and more his play. He has a circle of corsair in his build and is complaining about no CC and gap closer? I’ll just leave this here.

cleric: ton of buffs, heal ability, safety zone, the most OP one is stone skin lv5.

wizard: far range attack, cc ability need not to say, just like link and special aliment status: burned, frozen, stop time and etc. that is enough to kill anyone in the pvp.

archer: far range attack, multiple hits per second, cloaking, traps, stun arrow, slow arrow.

swordman: except cataphract can do fast run control with attacks, the rest need to do dash rush. any attack skills still need close gap. corsair’s iron hook and squire’s arrest are useful. something i found out lately, it seems peltesta is a must for a swordman. swapping between shield and your attack weapon(s), press c to block when necessary, that will help indeed. but swordman really need to add a faster speed at dash rush to make the PVP classes balance.

now imagine u run into those 3, use the hook and cyclone. u can kill at least 1.
my bet is in this kind of combo for 2H swordsman in pvp, but i still think we could use a gap closer

when u use this skill the enemy can move and atack =/, but its good lvl 1 so u can apply bleeding.also u cant use it if u capture more than 1 enemy with hook

true, this shouldnt be a party skill, or should be nerfed in pvp.
actually its kinda dumb if they leave it like this in pvp… any party with a priest c3 will be imunne to archer/swordsman.

From the looks of things. We need a way to remove buffs. Is there already an existing skill that does that? I’m too lazy to check the wikis.

no, at least for swordsman.
but stone skin is broken for pvp. they should make it work only on the cleric, or doesnt work at all in pvp.

take a look at the top 50, theres NO archer class and 2 swordsman only. if they dont balance things, a lot of ppl will just stop playing once they reach end game.
i was excited to play swordsman in pvp, but when i saw this all the hype died =/

I plan on going swordsman to kill the heretics. Sadly, I need to get to templar, make a guild and START WARS ON EVERY SINGLE HERETIC IN THE SERVER.

It’s a shame that I could barely kill one heretic. Either I go Assasin’s creed Dex build, Tank everything build, 2Handed Monster Build, Spearited build or the little puss puss squire build. All of them require other people to be at least be useful which annoys me.

Part Of this Guild which I made that focus on PK and killing everyone. I made some sort of a lore or reason why we do it and everyone who isn’t part of the guild or supporters of Goddess Giltine (Alliance PK members) are labelled “Heretics”. If I can properly play the game, I would go to Laima(Most popular server apprently) and create this guild, only to start wars everyday and kill every single person every day.

Course, I expect that it would only be me playing on this guild, hence I need the most optimal build for killing players on the field. Not PK or Duels but GvG (or basically, 1vEveryone). I can only go swordsman due to the fact that it’s the only class that allows guild creation (Templars)

Anyway, we kinda deviated a lot from the OP… lol

So we know there is stone skins, golden bell, barrier … lots of skill to mess with melee str based char.

Do we need a gap closer? Prob yes.
Also a buff remove skill? Yeap that too.

Well as of right now, our only gap closer is to run at them. Also shield charge, Pouncing and Mokuton no Jutsu. Giant Swing as well if used right (aka throw them at a wall).

And yeah, ways to remove buffs are the most important things that we need atm.

most of these things doesnt move, so u can run and wait till it end. but stone skin goes with the player so its the worst one. and with 2 clerics u can be imunne to pdmg with 100% up time
while swordsman and archer dont have magic defense at all.

they really need to balance things for pvp, or the game will have some problems

Mybe they intend stone skin for pve, thats why it party buff. 1more issue for swordy is that no role for tank in pvp.

It much more better for swashbuckling works to player also (works like dota axe skill berserker call). Force all taunt player attack you.

nah its too OP if taunt works on pvp, see u can make a cata c3 and pelt c3 and taunt a full guild, so u start running and your team kill everyone. thats OP xD

but i really hope they make stone skin a PVE only skill
