My skull smasher had the same fate. It was a +4 0potential weapon. Failed at +5 to +6 with 1 potential. Had to spam all my available golden anvils (30+ of them too) to get it to +12.
It was like what OP do, reached +11 with full potential, then it went down hill all the way from there.
@Unlocked It is not easy to get an orange weapon, those that need 2 practoniums and a big amount of other materials with a 500-600 dpk. When you end up with a +4~+6 with 0 potential, the feeling is really ■■■■■ (self censored).
I had failed enhancing an eq from +3 to +4 (bracelet) once and I was like wut?. No proof but it did really happen to me…
Yes armor is only safe to +3. I have failed lots of times on armor. The highest I’ve ever gotten is +5.
